I look you in the eyes

Don't feel nothing here

'Cause the feeling of the love that I used to have

Well that shit's disappeared

While Mark and Haechan were busy talking instead of sleeping, one of their friends made his way to a convenience store for a late-night snack. He walked along the houses with lights on, people getting ready to go to bed. The street lamps shone like spotlights of yellow, illuminating a circle of ground each 3 ft apart.

Jaemin walked through the middle of them, watching his shadow lengthen and shorten. He walked with eyes on the floor and his hands in his pockets. He had been hanging out with Renjun, chatting and watching TV, and realized he didn't have any food. He left Renjun at his house and went off alone to buy. Jaemin smiled as he remembered how Renjun had pouted and whined, saying that he shouldn't leave and that he didn't need snacks; he needed Jaemin. He had only laughed, then left. He hoped the other wasn't upset.

The convenience store came into view, and he walked inside. Scanning the isles for Renjun's and his favorite snacks, he picked a few. Goguma Kkang, Sindangdong Tteokbokki chips, Kkokkalcorn, and Nongshim banana kicks. Looking down at the goods in his arms, he didn't see the boy in front of him. They crashed together, his snacks spilling onto the floor and both falling onto the hard tile. Jaemin cursed under his breath and looked up to see who he collided with.

"O-oh my goodness," The boy stuttered, quickly trying to pick up Jaemin's items. "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." Jaemin smiled. Seeing him fluster over dropping someone else's snacks was cute to him.

"Jeno," The one who's name was called immediately stilled. He looked up slowly.

"Y-you know my name?"

"Of course, who could forget their childhood best friend? Plus, we have a class together." Jaemin said, grinning, getting up, and helping Jeno up too. He grabbed Jeno's hand and hesitated to let go. Jeno, who had been looking at the floor, raised his eyes and met Jaemin's. They stood for longer than expected, staring at each other.

Jeno came back to his senses first and pulled back. However, it seemed Jaemin didn't want to let go. Instead, he pulled Jeno closer, to the point where their chests were touching, and their chins rested on the others' shoulders. Jaemin leaned closer to Jeno, putting his mouth next to the older's ear.

"Call me. We should meet up sometime," He said as he pressed a piece of paper into Jeno's hand. Then, Jaemin pulled back, a casual smile plastered on his face, acting as nothing had happened at all. He took his snacks from Jeno, who was frozen in shock, and walked to the cashier. He paid for his items and pushed away the guilty thoughts of Renjun. They weren't official. It didn't matter. Gathering his thoughts and belongings, he made his way back to the house. Renjun was in the same place Jaemin left him in, curled up on the couch in front of the TV wrapped in a blanket.

Jaemin placed the food on the table and sat down next to Renjun. Renjun noticed that he was sitting a bit far away, so he scooted closer, only to feel Jaemin subtly leaning away. He frowned, decided that he probably wasn't feeling well, and tried to turn his attention back to the television. However, the absence and distance of the person next to him hurt him a little, making him unable to concentrate. After a few painful seconds, Renjun didn't want to think about it anymore.

Jaemin watched as Renjun stood up, shook the blanket off him, and gave him a small smile.

"I think I'm gonna go to bed now," Renjun said. Jaemin nodded.

"Good night," but before he could finish his sentence, Renjun rushed off. An empty feeling settled in Jaemin, scaring him a little. What was happening?

[don't mind the shitty ending hah sorry]
