Ben insisted on taking us home, even though where we live is in the opposite direction of his apartment is. He wanted to make sure that we get home safely.
It was a long drive home and it felt longer than the trip to Thato's.
Palesa got out of the car the moment we arrived at Rosa House, I don't know what it was, she said something about going to make an important call.
"At 3am?" I asked in a skeptical tone.
"Yeah I'll see you inside." She closed the door and ran inside the building.
"It's probably the alcohol." Ben said playfully.
"Or the weed." I responded
"Or both." We both burst into laughter after we said this together.
It was just the two of us left in the car.
"Listen, if you ever need to talk, I'm here for you." I say.
"Thanks, I appreciate it."
We lock eyes for a brief moment and it just felt as if time stopped moving.
He leans in to kiss me. The feeling of his soft lips on mine sends shivers down my spine.
The feeling of his hand caressing my lower back weakens me. The way he kisses is passionate. Slow. Gentle. We stop and he looks at me for a brief moment.
Was Ben always this good looking?
I felt a connection between us. It was as if there was a part of him that l had kept with me since he moved away when l was ten.
A part of him l had pushed aside, buried away and forgotten for a long time. Until we met again.
When we kissed it wasn't like anytime l had kissed anyone before. It was different. I actually felt something instead of just kissing someone in the spur of the moment.
It was as if our hearts had been communicating, telling each other how much they'd been yearning to meet again.
Engage again.
A moment of silence passed and decide that it's time to part ways before anything further happens.
I give him a goodbye hug and get out of the car.
"See you tomorrow." He says
"Tomorrow? What's going on tomorrow?"
