Chapter 12

*14 weeks later*

Sarah was 35 weeks pregnant and was getting more and more excited about the arrival of the twins. Andrew wouldn't let Sarah do any work. So Sarah spent most of her day in a rocking chair in the twins nursery watching Andrew put together the cribs, changing tables wardrobes and other baby things.

One day Andrew was putting together one of the changing tables while Sarah was asleep in the rocking chair when suddenly she woke up with pain in her stomach. The pain was only short so Sarah settled back down when 2 minutes later the pain came back but worse.

"Andrew...pain...stomach..." Sarah said sat forward with her hands on her stomach. Andrew looked at Sarah. "I think I need to get to the hospital." Andrew picked Sarah up grabbing the baby hospital bag and carried her to the car. Sarah's pain got worse every few minutes. Andrew got Sarah signed in and Sarah was immediately put on both a heart monitor and fetal monitor. Sarah was holding onto Andrew's hand and squeezed in every time she had a contraction. The Dr came in to check on Sarah.

"Ms Brightman..." The Dr started.

"Lloyd Webber." Sarah said interrupting.

"Sorry Ms Lloyd Webber. We are going to have take you down for a C-section in a bit. Mr Lloyd Webber if you change into scrubs you can come in with Sarah. Its going to take 30 minutes to prep you Sarah then it shouldn't be long after that when you go down." The Dr explained all the details about c-section then got Sarah prepped for surgery. Andrew called Sarah's mum and his brother to tell them what was going on.

"Not long till we get to see our cute babies." Andrew said kissing Sarah softly. "We still didn't decide on names."

"Celia and Erik..." Andrew kissed her head.

"We still have time to talk about that." The Dr came in.

"Sarah are you ready to go?"

"As ready as I will ever be." Sarah said giggling nervously. Andrew took her hand and kissed it. Sarah relaxed a little. They wheeled Sarah down to surgery. Andrew stayed by her head while they prepped her. They started the surgery and everything was going well. Until Sarah's heart rate started dropping.

"Sarah are you ok darling?!" Andrew asked concerned.

"I feel great." Sarah said weakly.

"She's bleeding out." One of the drs said.

"Sarah stay with me..." Andrew said just as 2 baby crys could be heard. "listen to that. That's our babies." Sarah closed her eyes "Sarah don't go. Sarah stay awake. Sarah I love you..." That's the last thing Sarah heard before she went into cardiac arrest. "Sarah please..." Andrew collapsed onto his knees sobbing still holding Sarah's hand.

"Get him out of here!!" One of the Drs shouted.

"No I want to stay with my wife." Andrew said in hysterics. One of the Drs dragged him out of the operating room. Andrew collapsed on the ground out side sobbing. He couldn't move. He felt like a part of him had been ripped out of him...he was lost without her. Andrew moved to a chair and closed his eyes...

"Time of death 12:56pm." The Drs said disconnecting the tubes from Sarah...
