Hermione had your hand firmly in hers as she walked throughout Hogsmeade. There was a slight wind blowing and you tried not to complain but it was getting to you. You pouted slightly.
“Can we please just head back? It’s cold out here, we can head back to your dorm and cuddle.” Hermione gazed over at you.
“It is a bit cold but I don’t think we should go to my dorm. I’m getting about sick and tired of hearing Lavender blabber on and on about us.” She looked slightly annoyed at the thought and continued forward.
There wasn’t much talking before you finally arrived at the location Hermione was looking for. The Shrieking Shack. It was practically falling apart and seemed so hollow and flimsy that it gave it a mysterious feel. You moved closer to her and she threw her hand around your waist.
“Isn’t this place supposed to be haunted?” She smiled slightly, looking amused.
“That’s just a ridiculous rumor. It’s perfectly fine. Come on.” She pulled you forward, onto the lawn of the house. You let her go in front of you and she pushed the door open. She grabbed your hand without looking and led you into the house. The floors creaked under her and you jumped slightly.
She looked back at you with a kind smile. “Calm down.” She pulled her arm forward and you came closer. She led you up to the second story where there was a bedroom with a small old bed.
You stood in the doorway, scowling while Hermione flopped down on the bed. You crossed your arms and began to pout again. “This place is absolutely disgusting.”
“It’s not as bad as you think. Come on.” She stretched her arms out to you. You rolled your eyes but still walked over and laid down on the bed next to her. She wrapped her arms around you, pulling you closer.
She placed a kiss on your forehead then on your nose then finally on your lips. You laughed slightly against her lips, kissing her back. She pulled away but you leaned forward, putting your lips on hers. She kissed you again and again, making you giggle.
You were having a good time until you heard a creak. You paused, turning towards the door. Hermione tried kissing you again but you turned away. “What’s wrong?” You craned your neck to get a better look at the door, which was still wide open.
“Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?” She kissed you again and you shot her an annoyed look.
“Seriously. There was this sound. Outside the do-” The sound came again and Hermione looked up too this time. “You heard it?”
“Yeah,” she mumbled. She got up, her hand instantly on her wand.
“Wait,” you whispered. You got up and followed her, grabbing your own wand. The hallway was too dark to see much of anything. “Lumos.”
You held your wand out, giving you both a better view. Another creak came from the end of the hallway. You both slowly walked forward. The closer you got you saw a small dark mass in the corner of the hallway. Hermione leaned down towards it to see what it was.
Hermione picked it up, holding it in both hands. She showed it to you and saw a small black cat in her hands. It’s eyes shined in the wandlight, a bright gorgeous blue.
“Oh my God,” you said quietly. She stood back up and began to walk to the room for better light. You put your wand light out and placed your wand back in your pocket. She held it gently in her hand where it stayed curled into a ball. You petted it with two of your fingers and it purred.
“How’d you get here little one?” It mewed as if to respond which made you smile. Hermione stared down at it, smiling slightly.
“So what are we gonna do with it?”
“Well, we’ve got to keep it.” She looked up at you, questioningly. “It’s not like it can survive much longer on it’s on besides I’ve always wanted a cat and this one’s perfect.”
“I’ll help you with it, as long as you’re sure.” You grabbed the kitten out of your hand and held it. It looked you in the eyes in an almost knowing way, which was just slightly ridiculous since it was just a cat. Some part of you felt a connection with this kitten for whatever reason.
“I’m sure,” you said, you looked up at her with a smile. Your smile seemed to make her smile too
“Have you got a name?” You looked back at the cat, it had settled into a ball, in your hand. It was sleeping now, breathing in and out steadily.
“Yeah. I’ll name it nox.” You could see Hermione smile out of the corner of your eye.
“That’s perfect y/n" she said as you placed the kitten down on the bed, slowly getting on as to bot wake it. She got on her side and you both cuddled with the kitten in between you.
