I tried my best to make this super cute ive never wrote for luna so i hope you like it.
You were quite possibly the worst slytherin ever. Everyone in your house agreed so and so did you. The sorting hat definitely made a mistake placing you in slytherin but you were never one to complain.
You’d always been the quietist slytherin and you weren’t just going to change yourself to fit in. Just because you were shy though didn’t mean that you didn’t stand up for yourself.
Being the shyest slytherin meant that many people thought that you were an easy target, you weren’t you just didn’t want to get involved with other people’s business like most people did.
You were walking down the stairs to the great hall when you saw Malfoy and his gang crowded around a raven claw. You pushed your way past them standing in front of the raven claw.
“Y/L/n.” Malfoy said, through gritted teeth.
“Malfoy.” You sneered. “What are you doing?”
“Non of your business Y/L/n, now beat it.”
“No.” You bluntly replied, leaving Malfoy shocked. Draco grunted before walking away. You turned around to the girl.
“Are you okay?” You said in a small voice.
“Quite, thank you.” She replied dreamily. The two of you shared an awkward silence.
“I’m Y/n.” You said, holding out your hand.
“Luna.” She replied, shaking your hand. “Would you like to come to the lake with me?”
“Sure, why not.” You shyly replied. The two of you walked towards the lake, talking about whatever came to mind.
“I hope you don’t mind me saying this.” Luna cautiously said “but why are you so nice, slytherins are usually horrible.” You thought for a moment before answering.
“I don’t really know, it’s just who I am, I suppose it has to do with how I was brought up and everything.
I’ve never fit into slytherin, I don’t even think that I was meant to be sorted into that house but I’m not going to change myself just to fit in.” You said shrugging.
“Always be yourself because if your not yourself who are you?” You turned smiling at her words.
“I’m surprised I haven’t scared you away yet.” She said sadly. “You know with my ramblings and such.”
“I don’t mind your ramblings, I find them very fascinating.” You said sincerely.
“Well then you’re just as sane as I am.” You laughed at her words.
“I guess I am.”
Once you’d both arrived at the lake you sat down underneath a tree. A comfortable silence surrounded you both as you pulled out your book to read and Luna did as she pleased.
“What book are you reading?” She questioned.
“Oh just a book about magical creatures, it’s very interesting.” You said, marking your page and putting it beside you. “You can borrow it when I’m finished if you’d like.”
“Yes please.” Luna replied looking back at you. You stood up and walked to the bank of the lake with her. “Do you know about the creatures who live here?” You quietly asked her. Out of the corner of your eye you saw her nod.
“The merpeople are beautiful.” She dreamily stated. You hummed in agreement. “I come here to play with them sometimes, they’re nice to me.”
“I’ve only ever admired them from afar.” You said, bending down to trail your fingers across the waters surface. The ripples spread across the water getting bigger, the further they went out. Tentacles emerged from the surface waving at the pair of you.
You laughed at the scene and waved back. Luna joined in with you. The giant squid brought down his tentacles splashing you both. You both gasped before you ran into the water scooping water into your hands and splashing water back at the squid.
“Come on Luna!” You shouted back. Luna ran into the water to join you as the pair of you continued to splash the giant squid.
You looked at your watch.
“Come on we’ll be late for curfew.” You said nudging Luna. “Bye bye squid.” You shouted waving.
“Bye bye squid.” Repeated Luna. The two of you strolled back to your dorms soaking wet.
“Would you like to be my friend Y/n?” Luna asked you.
“Of course.” You smiled at her as the two of you parted ways to go to your dorms. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” You said as you parted, ready to dry yourself off and get to bed.
Then luna spoke again giving you a shock as it echoed through the hallway. "Actually y/n, be my significant other?" She questioned
Your face turned bright red " of course i mean....i mean sure" you tried to play off as the girl happily skipped over to you embracing you.
"I know we just met but i dont want anyone else to find out about your amazing personality and take you." She said tucking her hair back. As she parted from the hug.
"Good night y/n dearest." She said skipping to her dormitory leaving you there to walk the rest of the way to yours.
You made your way back to the Common room with a beet red face from your eventful moment with luna lovegood.
Your peers noticing the blush on your face of course come to pick on you. "Saw you out today with loony lovegood, she your girlfriend?" Malfoy teased
"What do you think ya twit. Of course she is!" You said shoving your way past the platinum blonde leaving him and his cronies shocked.
You got yourself ready for bed, getting into your pajamas and brushing your teeth. Luna's new nick name for you stuck in your head.
Re-playing over and over like a beautiful broken record. "Y/n dearest" her voice repeated it over and over in your mind.
As you fell asleep you couldn't help think about what tomorrow will be like with your new girl friend. You couldn’t wait to see what will happen.
