Chapter 8
Ron's POV
"Where is he? He should have been back by now." I exclaimed as I passed the gryffindor common room.
"I don't know Ron, sit down you're giving me a headache." I glanced over at Hermione finding her on the red couch with a book in her lap, when was that girl without a book. I paced a couple more times around the Small room then with a sigh flopped down on the couch with Herminine.
"Don't Flop Ronaled."
"I'll flop if I want to." I shot back and sent a glare her way, she just shook her head and went back to her book. I stared into the orange and yellow flames of the fire wondering where my best mate was.
"Why the dungeons though? What in the world could he possibly be doing in the dungeons?"
"I don't know, now be quiet."
"But what if he's in trouble, what if he needs help?" I asked as I raised back up from my place on the couch and started to pace again.
"I'm sure he can take care of himself, he's not a child."
"But..."
"No buts, now if you're not going to be quiet then leave." Gosh what made her mad, but I did as I was told and went up to my room. The other guys were there hanging out and working on homework.
"Where's Harry Ron?" Neville called out from his place on his red bed.
"I don't know." I grumbled, walking over to my own bed and flopping down.
"What do you mean you don't know, you guys are always together."
"I don't know, ok! He's been weird, different than last year." I think they could all sense my frustration because no one asked any more about Harry. This just doesn't make any sense.
Harry's POV
I woke up the next morning with an awful headache, not wanting to get up but knowing if I didn't my dad would be mad. I threw back my nice and warm blankets only to be greeted by cold air, it wasn't always the warmest down here. I sighed and swung my legs over the side of the bed, my toes making contact to the soft carpet that I asked for after complaining about the icy floors of the dungeon. I don't know how my dad does it surely after a while he must get tired of being down here, Right? I looked up when I heard the brown door of my room being opened, there in the doorway was my dad.
"Oh good you're up, how are you feeling?"
"I'm ok, just a headache."
"I had a feeling so I brought you this." Dad pulled a small vial out of his robe pockets, handing it to me.
"Thanks." I mumbled.
"Of course, now hurry up and get dressed you need to be in the great hall soon." He said as he fondly ruffled my hair, then walked out the door closing it on his way. After I gulped down the disgusting potion I jumped up from my bed and rushed over to my closet and threw my uniform on and rushed out the door. I found the rest of the rooms empty, figuring that dad had already left I headed up to the great hall by myself. The castle had admirably cold today, which is weird because usually it was a comfortable temperature, shutting it off I continued on my way.
"Harry!" A males voice called out to me just outside of the massive doors for the great hall, I turned to see a red head rushing towards me and a girl with curly hair calmly walking behind him.
"Harry where have you been? You never came back last night, where were you?" Ron asked in a rushed voice.
"Calm down Ron I was on my way back when I got a headache so I went back to get something for it, then an overprotected med-witch decided that I should spend the night there." I told him hoping that Ron would buy it, that was when I saw his face. It started to heat up and become red, something that happened often since Ron had a short temper.
"Oh yeah sure because it's not like you went down to the dungeons then disappeared into a room, why are you lying?"
"I..."
"I don't want to hear anymore lies, I want the truth. All year you've been acting weird, always disappearing." Ron's voice raised over to the point of almost yelling, his face increasing the redness.
"Ron! Not here!" Hermine told him as she grabbed his arm, trying to calm him down.
"Fine, we'll talk about this later." Ron said as he stomped his way into the great hall, leaving us standing there. Great now what was I going to do, there's no way he'll be happy till he gets the truth.
"Don't worry Harry he'll calm down soon." A soothing voice interrupting my thoughts, I sighed and nodded my head. We walked into the very lively and bright room, it seemed that people were in a great mood today. We made our way to our normal spots only to find that Ron had chosen a place farer down the table, gosh I wish he would just leave it alone.
Time Break
Classes went by slowly, with Ron ignoring us the whole day. Just after the end of the last class of the day Ron came up to me demanding that I tell him the truth, I suggested that we take a walk outside to talk. That's how I ended up sitting in the courtyard with Ron Ready to bite my head off if I didn't tell him right now.
"I don't know how to tell you this..." I said in a small voice, looking anywhere but up at Ron
"Just Say it." Ron said
"Ok...this summer my uncle got a little worse than normal, one night he was drunk. He took his anger out on me, he tried to kill me."
"What!" Hermione almost yelled.
"Apparently Dumbledore had sent Snape that night to check on me, he found me and brought me back here. Madam Pomfrey then told us some shocking news, James wasn't my dad."
"What do you mean James isn't your dad, you look just like him?" Ron Demanded.
"If James isn't your father who is?" Hermione asked in a soft voice, sensing I was uncomfortable with the subject.
"Um... well..."
"Come on just tell us."
"It's Snape." I said in almost a whisper.
"What!" Two voice yelled at the same time, clearly both shocked
