Daniel's POV

The boys stayed quiet, looking at me, trying to calm her down.

You might think it's kinda weird because I barely know her, but I just feel this way. The need to protect her, to keep her safe. She has this wall built around her, she has her secrets and I just want to get to know her better. Maybe I can slowly build down that wall around her, I can slowly make her trust me.

After some time, the sobs in my chest and I realized that she fell asleep in my arms. The boys also realized that she fell asleep, and they finally  looked at me to say something.

"Who is she?" Jack asked quietly.

"Amelia, she lives in the apartment above mine." I said quietly trying not to wake her up.

They still looked confused, but just left it, not further questioning me. We decided to watch a movie while Amelia was still asleep in my arms. I already have a soft spot for this girl.

The boys were focused on the movie, not paying any attention to anything else. But I couldn't keep my focus on the movie, my attention was somewhere else. My eyes were admiring her beauty. She was really stunning. Her petite body laying here, her relaxed face buried in my chest, her hands grabbing my shirt.

"Stop staring at her, you creep." Zach said with a scoff, bringing me back to reality.

All the boys looked at me and laughed. I could feel my cheeks starting to heat up. In the corner of my eye, I could see Amelia's eyelids starting to move, her eyes still being closed.

She was waking up and I am here blushing like an idiot, amazing. She opened her eyes slowly, and her beautiful eyes stared straight into mine.

"Hey." I said softly and she got small smile on her face.

Hey? why the fuck would I say hey?! Ugh, very good first impression, Daniel. I mentally slapped myself in the face.

She sat up a bit, but she was still on my lap, not that I'm complaining. She looked around and the boys all gave her a small smile.

"I am so sorry. I probably interrupted everything and I was such a mess and you barely know me and..." she started to say anxious, but I interrupted her.

"Hey Amelia, slow down okay. You didn't interrupt anything. And I know we barely know each other, but I want to change that and you are always welcome here. Don't worry, I am here for you."

She got big smile on her face and engulfed me into a hug. I rested my head on her shoulder and my nose got filled with her amazing smelling perfume. I could stay in this hug forever.

She pulled back from the hug.

"Thank you, Daniel. For everything. You really helped me and I really needed it."

I gave her a smile in return. She stood up and started to walk towards my front door.

"Let's see if he will let me in this time." She mumbled softly in herself, probably thinking that nobody could hear her, but I did.

What did she mean by that?

Who is he?

And what exactly happened that caused her to knock on my door in tears?
