The taller boy looked down suspiciously. "Cas. Come on, I wasn't born yesterday. Lets go," he said pulling the smaller boy gently  towards the door, making sure the stove was turned off in the process. Cas protested, driving his heels into the carpet. It wasn't much use though, Dean was a lot bigger and a lot stronger than  he was. "I'm serious. There's um, there's food here. I don't want to go anywhere. We don't have to go anywhere. I um, I don't have any money. It's just not going to work." Finally turning around, he gripped Dean's arms, and in a last ditch effort, he looked up at his friend, blue eyes pleading. "Please Dean? I just want fruit." he said quietly, knowing that it probably wasn't going to work.

Dean came to a halt. Turning he looked at his friend, green eyes sad. "I-I'm sorry Cas," he stuttered, "Something is better than nothing right? Fruits a start to say the least?" Dean hugged his friend trying not to crush his small figure. "I really am sorry, I don't want to push you. I just got ahead of myself knowing you'd probably protest to getting food other than what you had..." Cas returned the embrace, breathing a sigh of relief. "Okay... Let's make breakfast then." he said quietly, temporarily forgetting about the meager contents of his cupboards. They stayed like that for a little while. "Do I need to go pick up some fruit?" Dean asked quietly. Cas shrugged. "Maybe. I have apples, but that is all.." "Okay, come on let's go," Dean said letting go of the hug. He went by the door and slipped his shoes on.

Cas sighed, following behind Dean. He hated grocery stores, and he was afraid that Dean was going to try and make him buy more than fruit. Tying up his shoes, he stood, waiting for his friend. Dean stood up and started walking twards the door drapeing his arm over Cas' shoulder. Cas followed him out of the apartment, heading to Dean's car. Sliding into the passenger seat, he stared at the dash, wishing he was doing something else. Dean smiled reassuringly at his friend as he started the Car. He pulled of where he was parked and started to the store. Cas walked beside his friend, anxiously playing with the hem of his shirt.  "I'm just going to get kiwis and peaches." he said with as much authority as he could muster. Dean looked at his friend and nodded. He grabbed some bananas and grapes. Looking if there was anything else. He looked at the food in Dean's arms skeptically.  "Kiwis and peaches..." he said quietly. "We don't need anything else."

Dean was a little shocked. "Um why not? I mean if you don't mind me asking," he responded looking down at Cas. "Because I just want to eat kiwis and peaches. I don't need bananas or grapes..." he sighed, looking at all the aisles. "Do you want anything else?" "Um. No, I don't think," Dean replied putting the fruit in his hands back. "I'll just eat an Apple. You have apples right?" Dean said turning back to his friend. Cas nodded, anxious to get out of the store. "Yes. I do have apples. Let's just pay and go back home."

"Are you okay," Dean asked sensing his anxious behaviour. Cas nodded quickly. "Of course I'm okay." he said, his tone more tense than he'd intended. The taller boy went closer to his friend, "Cas what's up? I know something's wrong..." Cas seemed to shrink underneath his friend's presence. "Dean. If there was something wrong, I would say so. I know when I am fine, so mind your own business." he mumbled, feeling small. "Cas you wouldn't know. For God's sake you were starving yourself!... Castiel you are my business," Dean rambled. Cas was his best friend and he cared so much about him. Cas glared at the words.  "Don't be a jerk. I can take care of myself. Let's just pay and leave." Dean huffed in frustration. "Cas I don't mean to sound like a jerk it's just... I care about and I'm worried about you," he explained.

Cas frowned, ignoring the comment. "I have homework to do today with Charlie." he said plainly. "You might want to go home." Dean was a bit taken aback by this, "Cas, buddy. I-... I'm sorry. That was a dick thing to say.. I just want you to know I'm here for you. We can pay and I'll drop you home." He looked down feeling bad for kinda yelling at him. Cas nodded, jaw clenched. He knew he was being an asshole about this, but he didn't need Dean to force him to eat, and he needed him out of the apartment. "Okay." Dean started walking towards the register. He was quiet the whole way not wanting to upset Cas anymore then he already was Cas followed sullenly, putting his peaches and his kiwis up on the counter. He wasn't going to eat them until tomorrow or the next day, or whenever he felt like passing out. He'd eaten too much last night.
