"Aye, get up, we are all going to the mall." I hear multiple voices screaming at me, I pull my blankets over my head and curl into a ball. "Come on get up, get up get up." Then my bed starts to bounce, I see all my 'friends'. "Good your up get dressed we are going to the mall." The twins say excitedly in sync. Blake is in my closet, already picking out my outfit for today.
Once everyone leaves Blake points for me to get ready. I stand up and immediately I feel horrible. I place my hand to my forehead, it's kind of warm but I feel as if its on fire. Blake notices and places his hand to my forehead. "Okay, your not going anywhere, we are staying home." I shake my head ignoring my headache and grab the clothes Blake picked out for me.
"Skylar, your sick, there is no way you are going to the mall." "I'll be fine. Can I please go please, I promise if I don't feel good, I'll tell you." Blake gets up from my bed and walks toward the door. "Fine. But hurry." I nod and change into my clothes and straighten my hair. Once I'm done I go downstairs to find the twins, David, Bryon, Vinny and Blake all watching tv, when they see me they get up and we head to the mall.
We walk into Tilly's and start looking around. I take a seat where the shoes are since I really don't care for this store it doesn't carry my style of clothing. I look out the window across the street to see HotTopic my favorite store. There is a shirt from Sleeping With Sirens hanging in the window, that I really want. I look around the store and find Blake looking at the hats.
"Can I please go across the street and buy this shirt I really want?" "No, we will all go together when we are done in here." "Please I promise I'll be back in twenty minutes. Blake sighs and nods. "Fine. Here's forty dollars, go buy the shirt you want and come right back." I hug Blake and run across the street to HotTopic, being careful of the cars of course I don't want to get hit.
I grab the shirt I want and make my way to the register but I can't help but stop and look at the lip rings. I don't have a lip piercing but I have always wanted one, but Blake always told me no. I look at the price of the piercings and then my shirt, I barley have enough to for both.
"You thinking of getting a ring?" I nod, there's a group of six guys all looking at me, with lip rings. "You should get a lip ring, they look really cool." They turn to me all with lip piercings on the right side of their bottom lip. "Oh sorry. I'm Jeremy, this is Brad and this is Oliver, their brothers. This is Freddy and Luis they're step-brothers, and this is Sage he's my brother." "I'm Skylar, but I go by Sky." "Nice to meet you." They all say.
"So would you like your lip ring on the left or right?" A lady with bright neon green hair asks. I point to the right side of my lip, and close my eyes as she numbs my lip. Before I know it she's already done with my piercing. Jeremy and his friends convinced me to get it, I'm happy I did.
"You get three free lip rings, what colours would you like?" I point to the black, purple and red. I pay for my shirt and piercing. "Hey, I know we aren't friends but here." Jeremy hands me all their numbers, I give them mine and walk across the street back to Tilly's.
Blake is looking at a red jackets, when I walk into the store. Steven and Billy see my lip ring and smile. "Wow. Skylar, I like the lip ring, you look really cool." "Dang , that lip ring really makes you look different." David says patting me on my back. "Hey, what makes who look cool?" Blake says with a smile, walking over to us. "Skylar, he got a lip ring," Bryon says looking at Blake. Blake smile drops the second he see my lip ring. "Outside now." Blake says with anger in his voice. I flinch and follow Blake outside. 'Our friends' all look at each other in shock, they don't know why Blake is mad but I do, this isn't good.
I follow Blake into the restroom and prepare myself for his yelling. "Skylar, what the hell. Take that piece of metal out of your lip right now!" "No." "Excuse me!" "Did I stutter, no I don't think so. You heard me I said no." "Skylar James, take that out of your lip this minute!" "No. You can't control me. I hate yo..." I feel a cold slap, then I'm on the ground holding my cheek. Blake hit me, he actually hit me. Realization washes over Blake's face, he now realizes what's he's done.
"Skylar, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, you know that right. I'm sorry." Blake reaches for my hand to help me up, but I move away from him. "Sky, I'm sorry, please let me help you up." I get up and run out of the restroom. I don't even look or care where I was running. I just know I need to get away from here, no not here, I have no need to get away from Blake.
I find a fountain by the parking lot by the Macy's, I scroll through my contacts. I keep scrolling until I see Kylie's name, I press the text icon. "Hey, sorry to bother you but can you please pick me up at the mall, North parking lot exit by the fountain." I get a text about a minute later from Kylie. "Sure, I'll be there in ten minutes." About ten minutes later I see Kylie's car pull into the parking lot, I climb in just as I hear Blake and the group calling my name. I shut the door and pray Kylie didn't hear them call me, and luckily she didn't.
"Skylar, why is the whole left side of your cheek red?" I tense up and think of a quick lie. "I wasn't paying attention and ran into a door." "Hmmmm, I don't believe you, I hope you tell me the truth later. Also I really like your lip ring, it makes you look mysterious." I smile and look out the window. "Want to go to my house?" I nod and sit up a little bit straighter.
When we get to Kylie's house I can see one of Kylie's younger sisters. Daisy Mae, she waving to us at the window smiling and jumping up and down.
"Oh everyone is home by the way." I smile and follow Kylie inside. Daisy Mae runs into my arms, I swing her around, she laughs like there's no tomorrow. "Daisy, let Sky at least walk through the door." "Sorry, Kylie." I smile and give Dasiy a kiss on her cheek, setting her down.
"Hello Skylar, how are you?" Kylie's mom Susan asks walking in to the living room with Mary Jane, Kylie's youngest sister in her arms.
"Swi, Swi!" Mary Jane says reaching her arms out at me. She's so cute I think it's adorable that she can't pronounce her K's. Susan hands me Mary Jane. She nuzzles her nose into the crook of my neck. I can't help but smile, she is just so adorable she looks like Kylie so much.
"Is Skylar here?" Kylie's dad Alexander asks walking into the living room. "Yes, dad." "Hello Skylar, how are you?" "Good and yourself sir?" "I'm doing good to, and I told you before you can call me Alex."
"Aye, I was going...." "Hey Skylar, what's up?" Beau says giving me a hug but being careful of Mary Jane. "Nothing. Just wanted to hang out with Kylie." "Cool. Well I'm going to the mall with Jude and Louis." "Ok, just be back before dinner." "Okay, mom."
"Let's go upstairs." I hand Mary Jane back to Kylie's mom and follow Kylie, but her dad stops us. "Hey young lady where are you going with your boyfriend alone." Alex sys with a stern voice. "Upstairs to my room. Skylar and I are going to talk." "Bring Daisy Mae." "Dad." Alex looks at me and say, "is that alright with you Skylar?" It's more like a statement than a question. I nod and hold Daisy Mae, as we walk to Kylie's room.
"So are you going to tell me how you..." My phone rings interrupting Kylie. Blake's picture shows up on my screen. "Do you want me to get that for you?" I shake my head but then I nod I can't ignore Blake forever. I press the speaker icon and wait for what Blake is going to say.
"Hello Skylar, is that you? I know you wouldn't answer my texts so I decided to call I guess I made the right decision." "Sorry this is Kylie but Sk..." I wave my hands in front of me to tell her not say I'm here but Blake already knows I'm here. "Where Skylar, I know he's with you." "He went to the restroom." "Skylar, I know your there. Please come home, I'm so sorry for what I did to you. I will make it up to you. I completely regret what I did. Please come home, I'll pick you up from Kylie's if you want." I hesitate but nod and,look away from Kylie and start playing with Daisy Mae. "He said yes, see you in an hour, bye."
