"Beginning a few months ago, a creature found its way into these very woods. This creature is known as... (G/N)!"
Sniff jumped when Little My shouted the creature's name, beginning to tremble when she laughed. Snorkmaiden started to do the same. She moved closer to Moomin for comfort.
"(G/n) plays a sweet lullaby from her pan flute. Rumor has it that whoever enters her territory here in the forest... never return. The lullaby put them into a never-ending slumber..."
Snickering erupted from above them. The group jumped and looked up, frantically searching for the source of the noise.
"Well, I wouldn't say that (G/n) does things like that, and those stories aren't so scary," a voice said from above. "Only a few come out here, and well, they're still alive and very much awake. Your reactions are the same as theirs was." The sound of rustling leaves came from above, followed by a twig snapping in front of the group.
"Those stories are more... amusing," the voice sounded satisfied.
Sniff, Snorkmaiden, and surprisingly, Little My let out shrill screams.
Snufkin stayed quiet. The voice didn't affect his level of fear. He had been waiting to know the identity of this '(G/n),' who he knew wasn't a ghost, and his witch assumption quickly dispersed when the voice emerged from the dark.
An ordinary woman stood in front of the group. Piercing (e/c) eyes, tousled (h/c) hair, and an outfit you would see sailors wear.
"You're (G/n)," Snufkin observed, gesturing to the pan flute that was tied by a rope around the woman's waist.
The woman grinned and did a mock-bow. "(Y/n) is fine, thank you." She lifted the pan flue from her waist and brought it to her lips, beginning to play a calming tune.
Sniff gasped and fainted, earning a howl of laughter from (Y/n).
"I always love the reactions." She shook her head with a smile. "You shouldn't believe every wives' tale you hear." Shrugging, she took a seat in front of the fire, resting the pan flute on her lap. "Well, I suppose it can't be helped. I'm thinking that my old crew started it all..."
The group exchanged glances. Snufkin took a seat across from her, poking the fire with a stick to keep it going. "How did this all begin?" he asked, curiosity glowing from his eyes.
(Y/n)'s head perked up, and a smile stretched across her lips like she had been waiting for someone to ask her that very question. "This won't be a scary tale if you really want to know." Sniff jolted awake and took a seat next to Snufkin. Everyone else followed. "This all began two Springs ago..."
