Poppys POV:

I watched as Branch ran off. I guess we could finish our picnic another time. I packed up everything and went on my way. No use in letting this lunch go to waste. I knew my father King Peppy would just love to eat with me so that's what we did.

"Dad, Branch has been acting a little weird."

"Honey it could just be that he's still getting used to living with the other Trolls. You know how he was."

"No...it's not that. He's fitting in just fine. It's just...I don't know."

My dad smiled wrinkling the corners of his eyes. "Don't worry Poppy dear. I'm sure it'll be fine. Now smile."

I took a deep breath and smiled. "Your right dad, thanks."

"Anytime." Dad took a big bite out of some fruit. "Ooh. Next time we have lunch together, be sure to bring more of these."

"Sure thing Dad."

Branchs POV:

I ran through the forest not knowing where to start. I knew I needed to find Cooper but I didn't know his mail route. Luckily it wasn't that hard to find him. I just had to follow the trail of cupcakes.

"Cooper!"

"Oh, hey Branch. What are you doing out here?"

"I-I heard that you lost a letter and I just wanted to help you look for it."

"That's so kind of you Branch but you really don't have to do that."

"Oh no, it's fine I'm not busy anyway." I was lying of course. The only reason I came was because I needed to find that letter before it got to Poppy. I don't typically steal but drastic times call for drastic measures. "So Cooper, do you have any idea where to start looking?"

"Huh? Well I think it was somewhere in this area. How about we both go this way."

"Um..no. I think it would be better if we split up. It would be faster that way."

"Whatever you say, Branch."

Cooper and I went off in opposite directions. I could only hope that this was the right thing to do. I spent nearly two hours searching for the letter and got no results then I heard Cooper calling my name.

"Branch! Branch!."

I followed the sound of his voice and we met in a clearing.

"Cooper did you find it?"

"You bet! I found it a while ago actually but I saw this really cute critter and-"

I interrupted him. "Did you open it?"

"No of course not Branch. I take pride in my customer service and besides that would be very rude."

What was I supposed to do now? I needed to get that letter away from Cooper and read it myself before it got to Poppy. If the letter is fine then I will just reseal it and give it to her, if it's similar to the letter I received from Bridget then I'll just have to figure something else out.

"Cooper, how about I get the letter to Poppy. It would be easier since I know where she is and I'll be sure to tell her that you were the one who found it."

"Oh that's crazy Branch. We both found it. It was a team effort."

"Right. Ok. Thank you Cooper. I have things to do and Poppys route is on my way. So can I?"

Cooper smiled but still looked puzzled. "Ok Branch, but why are you so eager to do this?"

I had an excuse ready to go. "It's just that I'm still trying to show the rest of the Trolls that I've changed and I like helping out."

Cooper's eyes welled up. "Aw. That's so kind of you Branch. You can definitely give the letter to Poppy. Can I give you a hug?"

Cooper leaned in for a hug and I conceded. This was the only way I would be allowed to leave. "Sure. Yay. Ok. Bye."

I ran as fast as I could to my bunker. I didn't want to risk reading the letter out in the open.

Poppys POV:

I helped my dad prepare for the party that was taking place later on. I was just putting up some extra streamers when Cooper came into the palace.

"Hey Poppy!"

"Whats up Cooper."

Cooper looked up at the ceiling, "Hmm...Streamers and Confetti. So that means PARTY!"

"You know it!"

"Did Branch give you the letter yet?"

"Branch? No. I haven't seen him since he took off to go find the letter with you."

"Really? That's weird. Maybe he got lost, ooh or he got stuck in one of those traps of his."

That made me nervous. "W-What! Then we have to go find him and make sure he's all right."

"Poppy I was just kidding. Branch is the only person who knows how to avoid those traps and get out of them. I should know, he helped me out of one of his cages last week. Really though. Both you and Branch are acting strange today."

"Really? Anyway...are you sure nothing happened to Branch? I mean we can still go check, right?"

"Alright. We'll go check."

"Yes! Dad I'm going to have to leave! Can you take care of this yourself?"

"Of course Poppy my dear. I am not only the King of Troll Village I am the King of Parties! Haha!"

We set off to look for Branch.

Branchs POV:

I sat down on my bed and was afraid to open the letter. I knew I had to hurry because I didn't have much time. Sooner or later Cooper would come and ask if I had successfully given Poppy her letter but I was afraid to see what I would find in it. I gathered up my courage and will myself to gently peel off the envelope.

Dear Poppy,

How are you! Me and Gristle are doing great. Yesterday we went fishing for Bumble Fish! You know, those finish with yellow and black stripes. I gotta tell you they taste so spicy it stings! Not much has changed here...

I continued reading the letter although there wasn't much. It really was just like all of Bridget's other letters. So...I'm safe. I went to my desk and got out some tree sap to reseal the letter. I was about to go and give Poppy the letter when I heard "Branch?"

Before I even turned around I knew that Poppy was there in my bunker. I knew that she had come looking for me. And I knew that she had seen me with a letter that belonged to her.
