Chapter 6

Poppys POV:

Branch and I walked towards the trunk of the Troll Tree. The palace was at the base of the Trunk and that was where the party was being held. I was kind of drowsy from the excitement of the day. Cooper had gone off the run more errands before the party so it was just me and Branch. I couldn't get over the fact that he had tried to surprise me! Branch has really grown. As we neared the palace we saw lights of all colors pouring out of the place. Music swirled around in the air and there were even fireworks. Every Troll in the village was there and they were having fun! This is a Trolls life, this is what we live for. Parties are what unite us. At parties like these we have more fun than ever because...we're with the ones we love.

I looked at Branch and he seemed to be absorbing all of this too. This moment. And then that moment ended. "Queen Poppy! It's an emergency!" Dr. Moonbloom called after me.

"What is it Dr. Moonbloom! Is someone hurt!?"

"Oh no we're just out of berry juice."

"Aye. Aye. I'm on it." I turned to Branch. "Sorry Branch but I gotta go."

Branch sighed. "Duty calls your highness."

I smiled then went off in search of more berries.

Branchs POV:

Poppy left. I didn't really have any reason to stay at the party but I wanted to. Surprisingly, I liked it. I wish Poppy didn't have to leave but then again she is the Queen. I always seem to forget about that. To me Poppy is just...Poppy. She's sweet and always laughs. Poppy's one of the happiest Trolls I know. She's someone who is very dear to me.

I thought I'd wait for Poppy inside of the Palace. It was loud. Trolls were everywhere. They were dancing and enjoying themselves. I got something to drink and leaned against the wall. I noticed Poppy running around. It seemed that every time she finished a task someone else needed assistance. I think I just sat there lost in a trance until someone broke me out of it. I felt cotton like hands cover my eyes. "Whatcha lookin at Branch?"

Cloud guy. "Well I WAS looking at the party but now I'm looking at nothing. And don't touch me, I don't know what you go around touching with those hands."

Cloud guy removed his hands from my face. "Oh so cold Branch! I thought we were buddies. Best buddies in fact."

"You're always bothering me, BUDDY."

"A friendly game of sorts." he nudged me in my side "Com'on. You know you enjoy it."

I snorted "You wish." Me and Cloud guy had a sort of Prank rivalry going on. He would bother me and I would try to get rid of him. Too bad even my best traps can't catch AIR.

"Really though what were you looking at. I know it wasn't the PARTY because you wouldn't stare like that at a party. I mean really. Your Branch, aka the guy who doesn't party."

My face blushed a light purple in embarrassment, "You don't have to believe me but I'll have you know that I've been going to more parties lately!"

Cloud guy raised an eyebrow "Well if it's true then why are you getting flustered? Hmm?" his eyes widened and then Cloud guy gasped "Wait. Don't tell me you..." Cloud guy turned his head away.

I was annoyed. "What is it? Spit it out!"

Cloud Guy smirked "After our long lasting rivalry, Do you have...FEELINGS for me??"

My head exploded then I glued it back together just so I could pulverize him. "OW. BRANCH. STOP!" Currently I was getting ready to pull his arms out. Cloud guy sniffed. "I was only KIDDING Branch. Gee I didn't know you were so sensitive."

I glared at him then resumed my place leaning against the wall. "I didn't know you were so...UGH. Actually never mind. I already knew that!"

Cloud guy laughed then he hit me hard on the back. "See? This is why you're my best frenemy. Always so entertaining. Just thought I would cause some mischief here before I go and thanks to you I've had my fair share. Until next time Branch!"

I called back, "I hope not!"

Poppys POV:

Poppy: "Dr. Moonbloom I got the berries, do you think you can make it into juice yourself?"

Dr. Moonbloom: "Why of course Poppy I am a doctor after all."

Poppy: "That's good then-"

Guy Diamond: "POPPY!"

Poppy: "Yes. Ok. Coming!"

Guy Diamond: "Poppy this is a code diamond!"

Poppy: "W-What happened?"

Guy Diamond: "I lost my mirror! How am I supposed to gaze at myself without my mirror?"

Poppy: "Will any mirror be fine?"

Guy Diamond: "No it has to be my mirror. It's a Guy Diamond one of a kind!"

Poppy: "Alright Guy Diamond I'll find it for you just let me-"

Nova Swift: "Poppy dearest!"

Poppy: "Yes Nova Swift? What do you- wait what are you doing here?"

Nova Swift: "I need a boutique. I have a fashion show coming up and I need a new outfit nugget."

Poppy: "Ok I'll get right on that!"

Things were crazy. I was running back and forth so fast that I almost tripped over Smidge.

Poppy: "I'm so sorry Smidge, I just need to-"

Smidge: "POPPY."

Poppy: "Yes?"

Smidge stood on her tiptoes and put her hands on my shoulders "Slow down and go enjoy your dad's party. I got this."

Poppy: "But-"

Smidge: "No buts. Really. We already get enough of that from Guy Diamond." Smidge looked over at the naked Troll "Now go. You need a break."

I sighed. "Thank you Smidge. I don't know what I would do without you." I gave Smidge a big hug and left her to do her thing. I thought to myself, where did I leave Branch?

Branchs POV:

I slid down the wall and sat on the ground. It was late and I was getting tired. Trolls are known to party all night. Well I guess I'm my own type of Troll. I would've gone to sleep right there if it weren't so loud. I looked up and saw Poppy running around again. She was so frantic, it didn't even look like she was enjoying herself. I wished I could help her but what could I do? Nothing that's what. I saw her talking to Smidge and afterwards Poppy looked relieved. She was walking slower now but it looked like she was looking for something. Then she saw me. Poppy's eyes sparkled. She was walking toward me. The light flooded around her illuminating her shadow. Different colors everywhere. The music seemed to fade out. She was looking directly at me. Everybody else began to disappear. It was like we were the only Trolls left in the room, maybe the world. That was when I knew that I...I love Poppy.
