Day 9
Aera was casually sitting down on the couch when Wonwoo texted her to meet him at El Besito immediately. It seemed urgent so she quickly grabbed her essentials for the day and headed out. Did he hurt himself?
She got there about ten minutes later. She would have been faster, but it was just after 9am and she needed some coffee to function. She had to knock on the door since there was no bouncer at this time as the club wasn't open to the public.
Jun opened the door and smiled warmly at me. "He's in the VIP section as usual, third door to your left, next to my office." He exited the building, leaving Aera to stand in the doorway.
It felt like she wasn't supposed to be there. The usual red mood lighting, the blasting music and the staff were not present, and the place now seemed foreign. If she didn't know that this was a club, she would assume that it was a restaurant or something.
Aera headed to the other lounge area, hoping to see Wonwoo. She still had no context as to why she had to be at the club but judging by Jun's reaction to see her and not get an ambulance or something, Wonwoo was probably fine. Did he just want to spend time today with her? It was a cute gesture, but she didn't feel like anything was going to happen between them.
She knocked on the door that Jun told her to knock on. She heard a muffled voice to enter, and she felt overwhelmed by the display she saw, a cute gesture on his behalf.
A red, tartan blanket covered the floor and a small basket was placed on top of it. Small plates of different foods like macarons, churros and flan were placed along the blanket, which all looked delicious, but it could just be because she didn't have breakfast yet.
"Wonwoo? Why you call me here so early in the morning?" Aera asked when she saw his back turned. He was placing more food on the plates and adding them to the mini banquet.
"Oh, Aera, hi! Did you have breakfast?"
"No, I thought you were in danger, so I rushed here."
"Oh, well, I just wanted to have another date today. Churro?" He offered and patted a spot next to him.
"Sure..." She sat down and grabbed the churro from him. She dipped it in the chocolate and took a mouthful. Delicious, as always. "Did you make these?"
"Sort of. I got Mingyu to help this morning to make everything." He answered.
"This morning? What time did you wake up to do all of this?" She gasped. How much was he willing to give to this relationship? And how was she going to tell him that she didn't want this?
"Hmm...5am? I got to the cafe at 6:30 or something."
Wow. Dedication right there. It made her feel bad that she was going to tell him 'no', but she couldn't lead him on any further after today.
They both slowly munched on the food. She was glad that she didn't eat breakfast because the food tasted amazing.
"So," Wonwoo said all of a sudden, breaking the silence, "how did you find yesterday?"
"It was a bit awkward after you kissed me, but I enjoyed your movie choices." She answered truthfully, picking up an egg roll.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I just got a bit carried away." Carried away? It looked like he was trying to seduce her! But what did she expect, he did work in a club.
"After this picnic today, I'll walk you back to the hotel." He changed the topic and grabbed a cookie. "We're closing the VIP section today and I have to work at the bar. We also have a meeting in about 2 hours."
"Oh, how come the VIP section is closed today?"
"Some maintenance things probably. Either that, or Jun and Minghao are getting kinky tonight."
Ah, typical of them. "Actually, I wasn't planning to come here tonight. I was probably gonna go out with my parents for dinner."
He chuckled and covered his mouth discreetly. "Sometimes I forget you didn't come here alone."
"Me too. They didn't even stay in the same hotel as me." Aera finished a cookie and sighed contently.
"Are you done? Should we leave now?" He asked, placing some plates back into the basket. Wouldn't they just spill and ruin the basket, she thought.
"Yeah, let's head back."

The walk was pretty uneventful. They just walked in silence, unsure of what to say. They reached Aera's hotel quickly and he opened the lobby door for her. She smiled and thanked him and went towards the elevator.
"You don't have to walk me to my room, Wonwoo. I can get there myself. Thanks for the food though." She said before the elevator came.
"No problem, but can you answer my question? Do you think we could ever be a thing? Like do you like me? I just don't want you to lead me on and give me false hope and leave me heartbroken in the end." He mumbled as he rambled.
She was not expecting him to bring it up. "I do like you, and I think you're a sweet and caring guy, but I just don't think I can date you." She smiled sadly. "When you kissed me both times, I did feel something, but it wasn't like fireworks going off in my body. It was just cute."
He hesitated and slowly nodded. "OK, thanks for telling me." The elevator opened and Aera stepped inside.
"Wanna just be friends then?" He held his hand out, hoping that she would shake it.
"Sure, friends." She shook it. "See you later then. I'll stop by the club soon." And with that, she was taken away and Wonwoo disappeared from her sight.
She arrived at her floor and was about to use my key card to open the door when she spotted a group of men waiting nearby. Actually, it looked like they were waiting outside her room.
She didn't even know them, so why were they there? Did they come to kidnap her? Was it wise to get their attention or alert security?
"Who are you and what are you doing here?"
