It took Bucky two weeks to finally come back to (Y/N)'s little shop. But this time he wasn't there for the bakery. Bucky was close to filling up the last of his journal notebooks that he's been keeping to document his memories (past and new). Sam suggested going back to (Y/N)'s shop because it usually has lots of cool notebooks and just good books in general. Bucky was reluctant at first but decided that it would be alright to check it out. Rebecca wanted some new bedtime story books anyway.

Bucky took Rebecca to the shop on a Saturday morning. They arrive just as it opened at 8 o'clock. When the two enter the shop, they are greeted by the smell of cinnamon and baked apples, and a song Bucky doesn't recognize blasting on the overhead speakers. Bucky could also hear the clattering of pots and pans as well as tapping feet and laughter. Rebecca rushes to the counter in the bakery and Bucky follows her.

"That's it, Killian!" (Y/N)'s voice is heard laughing from the back of the shop.

Bucky leans over the counter and looks from one side to the other until his eyes rest on the mother and son pair. The two are dancing to the music to the song and Bucky couldn't hold back his chuckle at their ridiculousness. The chuckle was so low, the pair didn't hear it over the music and kept blissfully dancing. Rebecca tried to jump up on the counter to see what her father is looking at.

Bucky just shakes his head and takes Rebecca over to the shelves of books off to the side of the bakery bookstore. Bucky finds a few cool journals, a lot with inspirational quotes on the front or cool images. Bucky takes one with the quote "Sometimes you never know the VALUE of a moment, until it becomes a MEMORY," and another one that says "Stars can't shine without darkness." They should last him a while. Rebecca meanwhile finds two books, I Love You to The Moon and Back by Amelia Hepworth and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. She also picks out a few coloring books and sparkly crayons. When they have picked out their books, The father and daughter head to the front counter to pay. The song shifts to a new song.

"You're just a small bump unborn
In four months you're brought to life
You might be left with my hair
But you'll have your mother's eyes"

Bucky notices that you and Killian haven't emerged from the back and the sounds from back there before have gone away. He leans over the counter to look to the kitchen to make sure everything is ok. Bucky would hate it if he had to break the news to Sam that his friend and nephew were taken by Hydra or something. He is relieved to see the two of you still back in the kitchen. You're hovering over your son, who is standing on a chair to peer over the counter as you two decorate some pastries. You gently sing along to the lyrics in a low tone that Bucky only picks up on because of his enhanced hearing.

"I'll hold your body in my hands
Be as gentle as I can
But for now, you're a scan of my unmade plans
A small bump
In four months you're brought to life"

"You have a pretty voice, mommy," Killian giggles. Bucky couldn't help but agree with the child's sentiment. You smile and kisses the boy on his head before continuing to sing the song.

"You are my one and only
You can wrap your fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight
Oh, you are my one and only
You can wrap your fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight
And you'll be alright"

Bucky smiles and looks down at his daughter. He picks her up and holds her close to his side. Rebecca's giggle bubbles out of her lips. As Bucky leans back over to watch you and Killian decorating the pastries, his metal arm bumps the little bell on the counter. The sound it creates is loud enough to grab your attention.
