The next day
"So...you're awfully quiet today," Wooseok says as I stretch in the corner of the practice room. "I assume something happened," he goes on.
"What makes you say that?" I sigh, almost in annoyance by the fact that he's been asking me about my silence all morning.
"Well, first off..."
"Alright, on your feet. We're gonna do a something different today for you main dancers," he says, pointing to me, Wooseok, and Yoora. At least Wooseok and I were both the main dancers together. We do as he says and get in our line just when a blonde enters the room. "I brought in Taemin today to rehearse the bridge of the music video where you three will be the only ones touching him in this scene."
I swallow hard as Taemin bows to us and we all bow in return. He glances my way withholding his smile before introducing himself and thanking the choreography for setting this up.
"I'm very excited to be working with you guys on this. So, let's try with just you four and then I'll join you when I see with what I'm working with," he smiles, all of us nodding before going to our spots on the bridge.
His voice rings throughout the room, filling our ears with the sound of an angel, we all knew it was true. I try my best to focus on my dancing as we did the bridge, my part being on the floor where I was supposed to be almost trapping him with the other three with my, soon to be, gloved hands.
Ending in our pose, I see him nod his head from the corner of my eye. "That...was actually way better than I had expected," he chuckles nervously, running his fingers through his hair before slowly approaching us. "You all have great form. And that's what I wanted was this spider-like form where you all surround me."
"I think that we should try it with you now. And Yoora, maybe extend your leg a bit more on that spin. We want to give it an eerie feel," he says, my roommate nodding as we all stand back up and Taemin joins us by my side.
I deeply inhale nervously, apparently being a bit loud for he turns his head and smiles at me. "You got this," he whispers, the translation almost not hitting me at first before it finally does.
"5, 6, 7, 8," he counts off as the music plays. When our count hits, we perform the dance, gazing at our reflections to look for any mistakes. I kneel down on the floor with grace as he teasingly rolls his neck with his eyes closed like he was to do in the video.
We all place a set of hands on his shoulders or even chest, but I left that to Wooseok, where we intend to trap him in our grasp. "Alright, first of all," the choreographer says, cutting off the music, "I think we need more spice," he says, turning to our two managers seated at their tables with clipboards.
They both nod, Manager Lee focusing of Taemin while Manager Choi was jotting notes down, usually critical notes for us to learn from afterwards. Having the managers with Taemin at the same time only made me even more nervous.
"So, Yuki," he continues, regaining my attention, "I think you should do like a little finger crawl moment from his chest to his neck because I feel as if that's something that will make people think, 'yep that's a Taemin music video,' right?" He says, the mangers and him discussing it further while we all stood and listened.
"What's your input on this?" Taemin whispers, my body tending up at the realization of how close he was to me. Clearing my throat I simply reply with, "it's my job. I don't exactly have a say in anything."
"Right, let's try it then," Manager Lee says, cuing the music where we begin our counts once again. Taking a deep breath, I kneel down, performing my little arm choreo before being one hand to his chest where I try to seductively crawl up to his neck, stopping at the bulge in his throat.
"Oh my god, it's perfect," the choreographer gasps, clapping happily at the outcome. Taemin opens his eyes to find me slightly hovering over him with my fingers still gently pressed to the smooth skin on his neck.
We both pull away, our faces flushing with multiple shades of pink. "Let's do it again," Manager Lee says, resulting in a slow blink and a long exhale from me. 'Good god. I'm not sure if I'll be able to actually do this for another 6 hours.'
~
The 6 hours passed by too quickly, for when we left, I was already on my lunch break. I had probably touched his neck and caressed his skin over 50 times today, and every time I did it, not only were we closer to finishing, I felt myself growing closer to him.
After he left, though, I didn't go to lunch, as usual. One, I was on a diet, and two, this was my time to practice. I was the only one to ever leave the practice room late at night because I will practice non stop.
"Criminal," I whisper to myself as I dance to the given choreo. This was also my time to watch myself dance freely and now worrying about him watching my every move.
Even though he has asked me to go home with him this evening after rehearsal, I was going to try to quickly rush to work so I didn't have to confront him. He even told me to not work there anymore, for my debt will be paid off.
I scoff aloud as I randomly, grab my foot and pull it up to the side of my head, allowing myself to witness my flexibility. "Imagine paying off a random trainees debt. He can't be serious," I sigh, running my arm down my leg balancing my weight before doing the entire rehearsal again.
As I almost finish the chorus, I do a spin that was in the choreo, but I hesitated too much, resulting in me falling on the hardwood, dance floor. "Ah...damn it," I whisper to myself.
I force myself up though and do it again. Hitting my final pose, I stare at my reflection, scanning for any mistakes in my form.
"You're really invested into your dancing, aren't you?" A voice from the doors asks, allowing my head to whip around to find a calm blonde leaning against the door frame of the practice room.
