This day couldn't get any worse...but of course, I was wrong.
The minute the car parked outside his house, I paid the driver with whatever I had on hand and ran as fast as I could to the gates. "I need to see, Taemin. Please, my name is Yuki," I beg to the guards who exchange glances before letting me in.
My feet were getting to grow sore in the sneakers I had quickly slipped on before coming here. The clouds match my mood: dark, grey, and overall heavy. My mind couldn't stop swarming with endless possibilities of how this could end up.
I don't bother knocking as I march up the concrete steps to his front door. Inside, I could already hear his voice talking to someone over the phone.
"Fantastic, thank you again for agreeing to this. See you soon," I hear him say before he turns around to find me looking like a complete mess. His expression changes dramatically at the sight. "Jesus Christ, Yuki, what's happened..."
"You haven't seen social media yet?" I interrupt, my throat almost clogged as I choke out a string of words. His face relaxes at my words. He had seen them. Pressing my lips together, I shut my eyes, allowing built up tears to trail down my face. "H-how did it happen..."
He breathes a heavy sigh. For something like this going around that could easily end his career, he was very calm. "I've already spoken to the company about it and they will be finding whoever is behind it."
"Taemin, you left the god damn camera on," I cut him off once again. "Was it...was it intentional?"
"Of course it wasn't," he replies, setting his phone down on the counter before making his way over to me. "You think I posted the video and set up the hashtag, don't you?" He asks sadly.
"No," I quickly reply, setting my bag down and forcing my coat off of my now sweating self. My breathing was uncontrollable. I felt as if I was about to have a panic attack and he could tell.
"Yuki, baby, please breathe," he sighs, attempting to pull me into a hug, but that only made me feel more trapped.
"No, please...give me a second," I pant, just remembering the second piece of news I had to give him.
"Of course, of course," he nods, backing away and giving me room to breathe. "Yuki, I'm sorry to leave so suddenly, especially when you're like this, but I'm meeting with someone for lunch in 20 minutes," he says as he fixes the white cuffs of his long sleeve button up. He looked so put together while I could barely stand and breathe for a minute. "Sweetheart, come here," he murmurs, taking me in his arms, this time, however, I don't push him away.
"I'm so scared..." I breathe into his shirt as he runs his fingers through my silky hair.
"Don't be. These things always get out but I'll do whatever it takes to save you from being kicked out of the agency," he replies, holding me tighter to show me a bit of reassurance. "Please stay calm, my love. This is only a small obstacle. Everything will be back to normal by tomorrow, I promise."
"I'm...not too sure about that," I sigh. He pulls away a bit so our eyes met. I could tell he was confused.
"What makes you say that?" He chuckles, continuing to run his fingers all the way from the roots of my hair down to my slightly frizzed ends.
'Was this even the right time to say it? I mean..he had to go to lunch soon, this would probably definitely make him lose him appetite.
Before I could even think about it much longer, one of his drivers pulls up to his front door. He releases a heavy sigh as he glances out the window for a brief second before going back down to me.
"Don't go back to rehearsal. Stay here and I'll come back in hopefully an hour, okay?" He asks, tracing a finger around one half of my face and to my jaw. "Help yourself to anything, but please stay calm, my love," he whispers before connecting his lips to mine in a long, passionate kiss.
"Do you promise?" He breaks away just as I kiss back to tease me. I furrow my eyebrows and gaze down in thought. Even with my heavy thinking, he continued to wait even though he was running late by now.
Finally nodding a few times, he kisses me one last time, this time, allowing me to kiss him back. He pulls my waist close to him for the remainder of the kiss before then taking off.
I knew I couldn't stay here all day. I needed a place to think, so I had decided to take a walk minutes after he had left. The guards knew I was staying there so they let me out where I began walking towards where people thrived.
It was probably only 15 minutes of walking before arriving on the edges of the city where I joined others on the sidewalk. It felt good to blend in for awhile, for no one took the time to recognize or even acknowledge me.
It wasn't until I reached the end of a crosswalk did someone grab my hand and pull me into an alleyway. "Hey! What the..." I pause to find Jun and I inches away from one another as we holds me in the cramped alley.
"Mister Taemin seems to be putting a bad example on you, Yuki," he starts, a smirk spreading across his lips. "You're skipping practices again and just when the choreographer was going to assign you to a duet with your new lover."
My breathing stops for a second before I push him away to the side. "I...you don't understand what's going on right now..."
"You mean the video you guys recorded while on your little vacation as well as the fact that you're pregnant?"
'How does he know?'
