Rosalina Garcia awoke to the gentle patter of rain on her window. Her blonde hair, the color of the golden sun, was slightly ruffled as her eyes, a strange combination of sea blue with flecks of grass green, blinked out sleep.
She looked to her pink paper calendar and groaned. Today was her 16th birthday. As you can probably tell, Rosalina never liked her birthdays. The reason? She honestly had no reason to celebrate. Her father left when she was very young and her mother disappeared. She lived with her aunt and uncle, who tried their best to make her life enjoyable. Unconsciously, she rubbed the two marks on her forearms. On her left, was an omega, the last letter of the Greek alphabet. On her right, an ankh, the symbol of life in Ancient Egypt, resided. They were strange markings and gave her warnings and powers, if only brief.
Once, a man followed her, his face shadowed by his large hat. He did look suspicious, following a young girl in a trench coat and fedora in broad daylight. All the while, the omega symbol burned silently, warning her. Eventually, her aunt found out and threatened to call the police. The man growled and swiftly turned around and stalked away. As he turned, Rosalina swore he held only one eye. The omega symbol hasn't burned since.
Another example is when she was 5, and needed to pretend tie a person up for a play. She had forgotten her rope and searched desperately in her pockets, hoping for a miracle. Strangely, she found a piece of twine. When it was her part, she unconsciously whispered, "Tas." The ankh symbol glowed, and the twine grew in length and wrapped around the boy. Rosalina had weirdly known the Ancient Egyptian word for "bind."
However, most people did not know of them. She usually covered them with long sleeves or jackets.
Away from that, Rosalina lived a quiet life. One could usually find her in her room, with an ear bud in one ear listening to music, silently sketching, writing lyrics, writing her story, or singing. Today, however, she had a strange urge to explore. She pulled on a light blue long sleeve and leggings, placing a white headband in her hair. Following, a black polka-dot umbrella, raincoat, and rain boots. Taking her purse, she wrote a note to her guardians, snatched an apple and left. Opening her umbrella, she waded into the already busy streets.
A/N: Oh my gosh!!! I'm so sorry guys. I've been busy. There really is no pattern to my updating, I really just do when I have time, or a burst of inspiration. Same goes to Sailor Harmony. I'm honestly very sorry.
