Don't Be Afraid

Chapter 7

Rose's POV

Having a vampire by your side who could hear your every thought and basically snap his head in every direction something moved was quite tiring. The fact that he was beside me, which was annoying, made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Louis could basically hear my every thought, smell blood, hear a heart beat, anything that was in the supernatural department you can name it then he'd have it. And trust me, that's uncomfortable when your walking next to a vampire.

The suck blood for crying out loud!

"Will you stop?!" I snap while throwing a twig at his head.

"Stop what? I was doing nothing," Louis retorted while he rubbed the back of his head.

"You were obviously doing something, why else would I tell you to stop?" I glare at him.

He rolls his eyes in response and speeds walk ahead, leaving me behind as I walk at the normal pace a human would walk at. Just to get on his nerves, I decided to walk slower than usual.

"Will you hurry up? I absolutely hate it when you walk slow," Louis glared at me. "Well sorry for walking slow, it's just me being the human I am."

He glares in response before he turns forward once again, his eyes narrowing at something that I could barley see. I honestly hated that he could see farther than me at the moment, but if it had something to do with other vampires tearing at a poor innocent animal... then, I'm actually glad I can't see that far.

Louis grabs my arm, pulling me behind him as he hides me from whatever threat is up ahead.

"Louis! My favorite nephew," a dark hoarse voice speaks as they step out of a tree from in front of us.

Louis holds me closely behind him, his eyes narrowing at the man in front of him.

"What do you want? Last I checked, this land was free from you dogs," Louis spat causing me to inhale deeply as I grab a fist full of his shirt.

For some whatever reason, I don't understand how Louis's family was related to werewolves. Don't you find that, a bit strange?

"Listen Louis-- who is that young, beautiful girl standing behind you? She still has a heart beat, I'm thinking you haven't changed her yet--" "the hell I will." Louis cuts his uncle off, his ice cold glare burning holes into his uncles face.

If looks could kill, Louis's uncle would be six feet under by now.

"Chill, nephew. I was just wondering, no need to get all protective over the young girl--" Louis cuts him off once again. "What do you want?"

Louis's uncle chuckles deeply, his eyes turning black slightly as he glances at me then back at Louis.

"You took her from her family, didn't you?" Louis rolls his eyes. "I did not take her, Aunt Eleanor took her away from--" "apparently, I don't give two shits if she was taken or not. All I wanted to know, is why did you take her?"

"She's immune. The only one that would be able to change her would be her mate," Louis's uncle smirks. "It's you, isn't it?" Louis looks at the man cautiously, he steps back causing me to tumble to the ground as I look up at him and glare.

"No. It's not me," Louis growls causing me to scramble to stand as I grab onto Louis's arm, somehow managing to calm him. The man smirks and slowly backs away, his eyes turning back to normal before he turns and walks away.

"What was--" "nothing, lets just head back. We need to go see Eleanor."

I let out a sigh as he grabbed my arm and threw me onto his back, he began running down the hill causing me to groan as I wrapped my arms tightly around him. I honestly hated the fact that we had to climb up all the way this mountain, only for us to go back down when we were half way there.

I just wished that whatever was bugging Louis had nothing to do with me.
