This time it was too much. He couldn't take it anymore. His feelings overflowed from his being like a river overflowing its stream after an untimely storm. His jealousy erupted like a thunderclap and his emotions were a tornado that devastated everything in its path. But nature having endowed him with an unfailing phlegm, he had managed to stifle them and had known how to keep a marble face.
Except this time it was more than he could take. His heart was bleeding. And it was painful. He was facing the horizon and the wind clouded his view, drying the tears of anger that threatened to fall. He was losing everything.
The war.
The person he loves.
His life was falling apart and he was just a helpless spectator who watched events steal everything he loved.
"Thai ..." a voice called softly behind him.
Thai didn't turn to face Jack. He didn't feel the courage to face his lover without letting down tears of frustration and sadness. He did not wish to show this image to the one he loved.
"Thai" Jack repeated behind his back more vehemently. "What you saw earlier is a mistake"
"Don't justify yourself, Jack..." Thai cut him hard. His voice was full of trembling which he struggled to conceal. "You still love him, it's obvious"
Jack couldn't retort anything. He couldn't deny this fact. It would be disrespectful to the man in front of him. And Thai didn't deserve to be made fun of...
Yet the mercenary would have liked so much that Jack denies all that and confesses an unconditional love to him.
But he wouldn't.
As soon as these people had entered their lives, they had wreaked havoc and mayhem. When they should have been their saviors. Their friends. Nothing was the same.
They were losing the fight. And he himself was losing the person he loved most in the world. What cruelty after putting him in his way. Why inflict such a hardship on him now ? Hadn't he suffered enough ?
And there was nothing he could do about it. It was fate.
Jack and Krit were soul mates. Thai couldn't fight. And this feeling of failure, of defeat before the fight, repelled him with all his being. He refused the obvious. Refused to give up. As long as Jack's feelings are uncertain, he will continue his fight.
He will do whatever it takes.
In a burst of courage - or desperation - Thai turned to face the regretful face that Jack's features showed. But he did not let himself be disturbed so far and put his two hands on the outstretched shoulders of his lover. In a trembling voice he implored him.
