"Where are you going?" Papa asked as I made my way to the back door.

"For a run. It's been a while since I let Phoenix out," I replied and he nodded.

"Be careful, you can never be to sure who may be out there as well," he said and I knew what he meant by that bad I nodded, "just come home if you see him alright?"

"Yes, papa. And can you watch Bella and Princeton while I'm out?" I questioned.

"You know it," he stated and I smiled before waving at him and walking outside and letting the change happen and soon enough as I opened my eyes, the scene before me was brighter than before. The sounds were louder and scents were much more distinct. I could hear the small animal as rushing to and fro in the woods scattering about their busy lives. I lifted my nose into the air an sniffed before dashing into the woods.

>keep your ears open, Luca< Phoenix said and I nodded.

>I know< I answered as we made our way towards the south boarder of the territory where Damon and Erick were stationed.

"Luca, escaping the hectic life of the pack?" Damon asked when they looked up at my approach and I nodded making him and Erick chuckle, "we're just as glad to be out of there too."

>anything new happening?< I asked them and they shook their heads and I nodded before deciding to check in the other boarders before calling it a day.

But before I could reach the western boarders I heard a howl coming from the east and north. I bowled back to my pack members stationed in those boarders with Sage and Adam both yelling int my head at once.

Just when my life started to be on the right track he decides to come back and crash it in a matter of seconds. And I'll be fucking dammed if he thinks that he can show up here and destroy the life I have built not just for me but for my children as well.

A twig snapping made me look towards the right to see the familiar wolf I never wanted to see again.

>Stand your ground, Luca. You are no longer the scared little boy he knew five years ago< Phoenix said as I turned to face him and he snarled at being challenged making me chuckle.

>Luca where are you? What's going on?< Mama's voice rang in my head.

>Get everyone into the safe room. Rogues are at the boarders< I replied and he cursed before he cut the mind link between us most likely going to do what I said while I kept my eyes and ear locked in the nooses around me and on James.

>Erick, Damon< I called.

>Yeah?< they called at the same time.

I rolled my eyes before closing our link before asking the others the same all replying the same thing.

>Don't take your eyes from him< Phoenix hissed on my head as James launched at me but I was quicker than he was and side stepped him with my eyes on him.

We circled each other with him slashing at me getting me on my snout that stung like a bitch. I sneered as blood trickled from the cut.

It's been five years since I saw him and he didn't change a thing other than the fact that he was no longer fast. Everything about his movements were slow which gave me an advantage. With me being younger than him I was quicker and more agile and was able to doge his blows.
