We sat in silence for a few moments while I try to find something else to stop the blood flow. I didn't want to leave Jordan alone so I just stayed by his side as I looked in my bag for something. It was mostly books and other school stuff. I checked my front pocket when I couldn't find anything in the main pocket. I didn't know where else to look and then I found the two ribbons that Emma tried to get me to wear. I took them out quickly before tying the two ends together tightly. I then wrap the tied ribbons around Jordan's leg just above his knee to try and stop the blood flow. Jordan let's out a groan as I tighten it and I lean back away from him as he looks horrible. We both look horrible.
"Sam. You sh-shouldn't have done that." Jordan says in between breaths.
"It was the only way to save you Jordan." I tell him.
"Th-that was pointless." Jordan says sounding like he's having a hard time breathing.
"We need to get you to the nurse's office." I changed the subject.
"I-I'm not go-gonna make it Sam." Jordan wheezes.
"No you will! You only lost your leg from the knee down, you will make it." I tell him trying to stay positive.
"I'm lo-losing too much bl-blood Sam." Jordan wheezes again.
"Come on Jordan, we can get you to the nurse's office and I can use an actual bandage to wrap that up." I tell him as I stand up again.
"No." Jordan says letting out a ragged breath.
"Jordan?" I ask as he got suddenly quiet.
"Jordan your not allowed to die on me!" I yelled at him.
Jordan didn't respond and that fact scared me. I walk up to him before grabbing his shoulders and shook him slightly. Please don't die on me. Please don't die on me. I thought over and over again. I kept calling his name over and over again as I shook him but he didn't move, and he didn't speak. I trembled as I felt tears build up in my eyes from sadness and fear. I don't want to be alone! I thought falling on my hands and knees. I kept trembling at the thought that I'm all alone fighting and trying to survive these beasts. There's no way I'm going to make it until morning now. I heard a low rumble of growls forming around me, and I slowly stood up before shining my flashlight around the room. They are here and ready to finish me off. I try to protect Jordan's body even though he's already dead, but I don't want them to take his body. I kept shining the flashlight back and forth trying to keep them back as long as I could, but they will just reappear when the light leaves. I didn't understand what they were waiting for, they had me in a corner with not a lot of light. Why are they just sitting there waiting, growling at me?
"What do you want from me!" I yelled at them angrily then added, "What are you waiting for?"
They just continue to sit there waiting, and I don't understand why. They can kill me easily. I took my phone out and check the time and saw that it's almost eleven. I look back up at them to see them still staring and growling at me. What the hell are they even waiting for? I wondered terrified and confused. There's nothing to stop them, so why wait to kill me? I glanced towards Jordan's body and noticed that it's gone. Wait what! I look around frantic before noticing some shadow monsters carrying him out of the room. Why are they carrying him out? I thought confused. I shined my light at the beasts as I tried to figure out how I can follow them. I then remembered I still have two more matches left that were for the lantern that I broke. I quickly took out the matches and took one out before putting the last one in my back pocket. I let out a breath as I'm about to start a fire in the school, and I'm doing it on purpose.
I grab a book from my bag quickly before using the match against it before throwing the match onto a desk. The fire started to die but I kept yelling no at it and hoping it will enflame again. The fire started to light up and soon it engulfed the wooden desk. The shadow monsters hissed and screeched at the bright light, which gave me the advantage to run out into the hallway but I stopped at what I saw. My eyes widen when I saw what's sitting there on the ground. It was everybody's heads in order of when they died! Jordan's head was ripped cleaned off and was just sat down on the ground when I walked out. The blood from his head being ripped off splattered onto me making me gagged but I was more terrified at what I saw. Why are they doing this? Why are they keeping our heads? I thought terrified. I shined my light at all of the heads and stopped when I realized the growling of the beasts were coming closer to me.
"You want to kill me. So just do it!" I yell at them.
They didn't move a muscle and it makes me more afraid as I don't know why they are waiting to kill me. They didn't wait to kill the others, so why are they waiting to kill me? I just want this nightmare to end, and I already know I'm not gonna make it. The hallway suddenly became more chiller than before and I shivered in my hoodie. It's odd that it's so cold when I just lit a fire in the classroom behind me. I shined my flashlight down the hallway as I feel like I hear something coming, and it almost sounds like it's big. I squint my eyes before they widen in horror at what's coming towards me. It's like a giant version of the shadow monsters, but it has horns! Is this one like the king or queen of these beasts? I took a step back as it stops in front of me narrowing its eyes at me with cold hunger.
"Ki-kill me if you wa-want. You al-already killed everybody else." I stuttered.
The giant beast leaned its head closer to me before letting out a loud roar in my face. Its breath smelled terrible of bad odor and blood. I scrunch my nose in disgust as I took another step back from it but bumped into the wall. I'm gonna be eaten whole by a giant freaking shadow monster. I thought scared shitless. I thought I was gonna end up the same way as everybody else, but I guess I won't be ripped apart. I'll have a somewhat more pleasant death if you can call being swallowed whole somewhat pleasant. I then slapped myself as I forgot again that I had a match on me. I took it out along with my history book, and just as I'm about to light the match the giant beast grabs me in it's big clawed like hands, and they are freezing by the way. I guess that makes sense, they are made from shadows, which also doesn't make sense how they can grab ahold of us like this. I shook away that thought as I need to stay focus if I want to live, or at least try to stay alive until the sun comes up. I light up the match before throwing it at the giant beast making it hissed loudly and making it drop me on the ground.
I land with a thud before quickly standing up and running in a random direction trying to getaway. I ran and ran until I'm suddenly stopped as a tail flung under my legs making me fly forwards landing on my face. I groan from the pain and impact but got up to run again, but I froze. In front of me was the exit of the school. Should I leave this school? I wondered conflicted. It's almost midnight and it's still darker out, it's not safe out there like it's not safe in here. I glanced down at my flashlight as it started to flicker and my eyes widen in horror.
"No no no!" I yelled standing up quickly.
If I'm left alone in the dark, then they will surround me easily. They can kill me easily and I know that giant shadow monster will have no mercy on me. I then hear the growls coming closer and I can hear the angry growls of that giant beast. There's no point in running, but I can't just give up either. Everyone here died because of them, they died or sacrificed themselves to save others. I can't just throw my life away because there's no hope left I have to at least try. My flashlight flickered again before dying completely, and my heart started pounding against my chest terrified. I will stand my ground and try to survive, even though I know I'll probably die in the end. I hear them surrounding me and no matter what I'll stand my ground until the very end.
