Chapter 4

As Emily introduced me to a whole herd of people, I couldn't get my mind off of Jack. I really, truly thought that he liked me, and that I liked him.

"Oh, and Paisley this is Colby." I heard Emily say. Oh boy, he was hot too. Not as hot as Jack though. I flashed a smile at him and he smirked, "Well, Paisley, I have to say, you're looking hot today." I awkwardly smiled and he walked away. "I'm gonna go get a drink. Aka go with Colby." Maddie winked. Did she have to take every boy here?

I furrowed my eyebrows, "...Are you cheating on Jack with him?" Maddie smirked, "It's our little secret." and then put her index finger to her mouth.

Now I knew what kind of person she is. She doesn't deserve Jack. And I'll try everything in my will to split them up.

I walked over to a beer keg, got a cup and took 3 big gulps until I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around. "Hey, Paisley, it's time to go home. Everyone's leaving." I nodded my head and pursed my lips.

Jack asked, "Are you drinking alcohol Paisley?" I nodded my head, "You do too, don't you?" Jack just shook his head saying no. "I thought you were better than this Pais."

As we were walking home, words started sputtering out my mouth. "Jack I think your girlfriend, Madison is cheating on you." I immediately put my hands over my mouth. God I'm a fucking idiot. She would kill me if she knew I said that.

Jack sighed, "Paisley, I've known her longer than I've known you, and I know that she would never cheat on me." I glared at the ground, infuriated. He doesn't know her well enough then. "Well, you might not know a person as well as you think. She said she was going with Colby tonight. Sorry."

Jack narrowed his eyes at me. "Let's hurry home, now." We started walking faster until I saw my driveway.

Jack hopped into a Black Range Rover parked in front of his house. "You better be right Pais. Now hop in."
I smiled and hopped into the passenger seat. I grinned, "Is this your Range Rover?" Jack smirked, "This is my parents car, but they let me use it sometimes."

As we were driving, we pulled into a driveway. Jack sighed, "Welp, we're here. You better hope you're right about her cheating on me." I nodded my head and got out the car. I was hoping I was right too.

Jack and I walked up the walkway and he knocked on the door. Almost 5 minutes later a drunken Madison with only her bra and underwear on answered the door. I smirked and hid so Madison couldn't see me. I was right after all.

Jack frowned, "Are you cheating on me with Colby? And drinking booze? Really Madison? I thought you were better than that." She furrowed her eyebrows and nodded her head, no a bunch of times. "I do, but Jack, I love you. You know that. Who even told you I was here? Better not be that little skank you brought to the party. What was her name? Paisley? She seemed like she was all over you."

Oh hell no. I was not a skank in any way shape or form, nor was I, "all over" Jack. I hate her guts already. "No she's just my neighbor, and that's none of your concern. Are you seriously cheating on me though? Shame on you, you heartless whore." and then Jack slammed the door in her face. I heard Madison on the other side saying, "Jack, come back! We're meant for eachother!"

Jack rolled his eyes and started talking to himself, "Colby can fucking keep her, that worthless, cheating whore."

I widened my eyes. Did he really just do that? Jack mumbled, "I guess you were right, Pais." We walked back to the car and I could feel... guilt in my stomach? I couldn't help but feel bad now that Jack's mad and sad because of me.

We turned into the driveway almost ten minutes later. "Listen Jack, I'm sorry that I made you and Madison break up."All Jack did was look me in the eyes, and got out the car.

I sighed, got out the car and headed toward my door. Right when I was about to open the door, Jack turned around and said, "Wait, I'm sorry I'm just a little... upset. But, uhh tomorrow I'll actually show you around the neighborhood. Goodnight" I grinned at the door. "Goodnight, Jack."

As I opened the door, I quietly snuck up the stairs, and leaped into bed. As I closed my eyes, the only thing that filled my little head, were thoughts that tomorrow day will be another spent with Jack Dail.
