Snakes and Ladders (Draco Malfoy x Reader ft Harry)

Chapter 11

Y/N POV

The wind blew my hair in every direction as I walked up the stairs to the Astronomy tower.

'I'm glad you came y/n' Draco said from the top, his voice echoing throughout the tower.

As I reached the top, I was met by the sight of Draco, sitting on a blanket. His hair messed up because of the wind but that made him all the more attractive.

I sat down next to him and placed my hand on the smooth material of his robe.

'I'm glad too' I whispered.

He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we sat in silence for a while, just enjoying eachothers presence.

'Draco, do you have any food? I missed dinner.'

He smiled. 'Don't worry, I came prepared.'

And with that, he snapped his fingers and a large picnic basket appeared in the centre of the blanket. He reached his hand inside, proceeding to take out all sorts of delights such as strawberries, Chocolate frogs, sandwiches and two bottles of butter beer.He took a strawberry out of the box and placed it in my mouth.

I wonder why Draco was doing this 'romantic gesture' I mean I certainly wasn't complaining but maybe there was a reason...or maybe I was just overthinking it.

We sat and talked for what seemed like hours.

'y/n, I've been meaning to ask you something.'

'What is it?' I nodded.

'Well I've been thinking, you and I were naturally destined for eachother, it was practically written in the stars.'

I loved this side of Draco, it didn't come out often and he was very particular about who it came out with.

'It wouldn't hurt to make 'us' official, that way I could make sure you're mine and maybe Pottah will stop chasing after you like a hopeless lost duckling.' He continued.

'You mean like, girlfriend and boyfriend official?' I asked.

'Yes...you sound unsure.' He said in a concerned tone.

'No Draco' I laughed 'I was just asking, of course i'll be your girlfriend, don't be absurd.'

He sighed in relief.

'By the way, Harry doesn't chase after me nor care for me, he even smelt some girl that smelt like strawberries and cream in his amortentia.'

Draco burst out laughing. 'Oh y/n' He said, shaking his head.

'Are you really that thick?' he joked.

I stared at him in confusion. 'What do you mean?'

'Even I know Pottah despises strawberries, there isn't a chance that he's attracted to them.'

My eyes widened, had Harry lied?

'Besides, who on earth smells like strawberries and cream? That's revolting.'

'So, you're telling me, he smelt me?' I questioned.

'You must be daft, of course he did. You do realise I see the way he stares at you.' Anger started to build up inside of him. 'The next time he stares at you will be his last, trust me.'

I tried to hold it back but I couldn't help but let a small giggle escape my mouth. I felt Draco's eyes pierce through my skin. That's when I knew he wasn't joking.

'sorry' I muttered.

'No darling it's not your fault, you can't help being so charming.'

I blushed.

He held one bottle of butter beer up and handed me the other one.

'Cheers to us' he whispered.

'Cheers to us' I repeated, clinking the two bottles together. We both took a big sip of our butter beers before setting them down beside us.

Draco took my hand in his and moved his head towards my ear. 'I'll love you forever y/n' He whispered, making me shiver. He placed a kiss onto my lips, his hands caressed my body. I moved closer deepening the kiss.

'ouch' I muttered.

'What? What happened?' Asked Draco pulling away.

'You bit my lip a bit too hard' I laughed.

Draco turned red 'sorry'.

I cuddled in closer to him tucking my head into the nook of his neck.

'Draco, I'm getting a bit cold, can I go in to get my robe?'

'No, Filch will catch you, here, take mine' He said smirking.

I smiled as he wrapped his robe around my shoulders but then, I felt something strange, It was a small, hard object in the pocket of his robe.

'What's in your robe pocket?' I asked.

'Oh shit, I almost forgot, I bought you a promise ring, it will let everyone know that you're mine.'

He opened the box and slipped the ring onto my index finger. It was a silver band with a large emerald encrusted onto the front. On the inside of the band 'your initials x D.M' was engraved into it.

'Thank you' I said placing a kiss on his cheek.

And with that we lay down together facing the stars, and fell asleep.
