Alya POV

Being in Class is so boring this is my second class today and I'm ready to go home. I have two clients at the salon but if my professor wrap this up I can take a nap before going to work. I have to do box braids and lemonade braids. "Ok young people class is dismissed see you Wednesday" My professor said.

Jas has the car today to run errands for her online shop. so I have to wait on my Uber. I sit on the bench waiting for my Uber to pull up.

My Uber finally pulled up and after me verifying that it was my Uber I was on my way home. After getting home I got in the shower washing all the school germs away. I hate just jumping into bed after coming from outside.

After my shower I ate a quick snack and played a game on my phone. I went to lay down and set my alarm to 4 my first client is at 4:45 and my second is at 7:30 as soon as my head hit the pillow I was consumed by darkness.

4:00pm

I woke not ready to get up at all but it's fine first I set up my Uber then I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I put on another PINK sweatsuit set and my PINK slides. I grab my purse walking out the door and sitting in the lobby waiting for my Uber.

After about 5 minutes I get the alert that my Uber is here. After verifying it we were on the way to shop.

"Yea girl and I heard he had a baby on her" I heard as soon was I stepped in the shop "Hey y'all" I said going to my station "hey ms. Alya how school going" Sincere said Sincere is around my age and she had it SUPER clear that when I leave she coming don't matter how much she gotta pay for the chair.

Most of the people in the shop said that. I mean the lady that owns the salon is always complaining about the little things. Nobody wants to feel like they momma nagging them at work. "Good girl how's the hubby and kids" I said seeing my client walking up. Sincere married her high school sweetheart they been married for 6 years as soon as it was legal for them to get married they did and had a kid 3 years later.

  He sometimes come to the shop all excited running around. "Girl Darren just won this case so we going out for dinner when I get home and you know Tim Tim being a active 3 year old as always." She said laughing as I walked to the wash bowl with my client

  "Hey y'all" I look to see Chelsea she works here to and nobody can stand her. She always bringing men here to have sex in one of the break rooms. And the only reason she not fired is because her mom is the owner. That's bad for business and if my clientele wasn't solid I would've lost a lot of customers.

  Nobody answer her getting back to work. "Fuck y'all too then" she said going to her station. She rarely gets clients and when she do she do something completely wrong and someone else fix it.

  After washing and dryer my clients hair I starting parting "Lya you want me to finish them off for you" Kim asked Kim is like my assistant. She's still in high school but about a year and a half ago she came here and ask for a job but without her license the boss shut her down. When I looked at her I saw me so I decided to take her under my wing as an apprenticeship which she didn't need a license for.

  She helps a lot too from washing clients hair for me and even other worker to helping finish braiding. I pay her at least 20% plus the other worker and I give her half of our tips. She also gets her practice to get her cosmetology license. She's a senior now and she said she going to get it when she graduates and then I can let her do full heads and she definitely have a seat at my salon when I get it. She's like a lil sister I never had

  "Yea hold on though lemme get to like the second row "I told her as I finish pre-parting.

               7:35pm

"Kim my other client should be coming in a minute but I'm not completely done with her can you wash and dry her hair for me" I asked starting my last row of box braids. "Got you" she said walking to the front.

              9:15pm
"Kim what time your mom get off" I ask noticing that we are all almost done "10:00" She said "you hungry you wanna get dinner or something" Kim mom is a nurse so sometimes I'll feed her and take her home but I don't have the car today so I figured after we ate she'll be off and on the way to pick her up. "Yea let's get J.R" she said "cool can you go heat some water in the microwave" I said starting my second to last braid.

               10:00pm

"My mom said she on the way" Kim said finishing her chicken and waffle slider. "She coming here or to the salon" I said drinking my drink. "Here, I'm finna go wash my hands" she said getting up and walking to the restroom.

"You enjoying everything" the waiter said "yea thanks Umm can I get the check." I said looking up at him "yea" then he walked away as Kim walked back up.

  "Lya you gone come to my graduation" she asked "yea when is it" so I could put it on my calendar "may 26 my mom said she finna come in" she says as her mom came in I stood up "hey Lya how are you, looking all fine and stuff" "Hey Ms. Monica" I said laughing

  "Where your car at" she says looking outside "Jas has it today I'm Ubering" I said "I can give you a ride if you want" she said as we walk outside "you sure cuz if you tired and just wanna go home I can ride in a Uber." I said she work at least 12 hours a day I don't wanna overwork her. "No it's fine plus Kim told me you moved and we wanna see" she said laughing "ok" I said as we walked to the car.

  After about 15 minutes we made it to my condo "y'all wanna come up and see?" I asked "Yes" Kim said basically jumping out the car as Ms. Monica turn the car off. We walk to the front going to the elevator "Thank god we ain't gotta use the stair no more" Kim said

  After the elevator dinged we walked down the hall to my condo I unlocked the door and walked in "Damn Ayla this nice" Ms.Monica said looking around "Lya please lemme have my 18th here" Kim said clearly out of her mind "girl no don't you wanna go somewhere with your friends or something" I asked

  "They be tripping tho" she said walking down the hall going straight to my room which confused me because I didn't tell her where it was. "How you know this my room" I said as I walked in "because you always be wanting the room farther away from the door" she said "I guess"
