Drowning

I jumped into the water
Hoping to swim.
It swallowed me.
And started to win.

I could not stay up,
I fought to get air.
The whole ocean against me,
It just wasn't fair.

My vision had darkened,
I start to give in.
I sink to the bottom,
The wet sand on my skin.

I've lost all my breath,
I'm to weak to move.
Life goes on around me,
Flowing so smooth.

They don't seem to notice,
My water filled lungs.
I'll never see the surface,
For the waves have won.
