Chapter 3- Ben
" Aaaaggggrrrrhhh fuck!" Ben roared as he threw his phone at the wall, in his bedroom. Then he turned to the large punch bag, letting out his anger in a safe way.
His parents had brought him the bag so they didn't have to keep replastering the walls due to his fists going threw them everytime he got worked up, which was quite a lot, since Stacey and Jake got together.
He still lived at home with his parents because he decided he was going to save up for when he gets the right girl. He was going to give her the world starting with a home that would be theirs.
Thing is he found the right girl but he didn't appear to be getting any closer to that dream for a long time at least not while Stacey was still with Mr Mob boss.
Running out of steam, Ben dropped to the floor and the tears began to fall. It wasn't that he believed Jake because if Stacey knew how he felt she wouldn't just shut him out, she would want to talk about it.
What had him so worked up was, that Jake had noticed that he was hiding feelings for Stacey and he was worried for her now because what if Jake took it out on her?
Thats why he played along on the phone, so that he could make Jake see it was all him. He knew stacey would never say that stuff about him.
"What was that noise? Ben, why are you on the floor? Ben, sweetie, whats wrong?" Hazel asked, in her caring motherly tone as soon as she noticed the tears streaming down her son's face. She crouched down next to him and lifted his chin, so she could look into his eyes.
He tried to pull away, ashamed of himself for letting that cocky fuck get to him so much, but when it comes to his baby girl he doesnt mess around.
All he wanted to do, was to go and kick the shit out of Jake. He knew what he did to Stacey but she seemed to love him so he didn't interfere. If just being friends with Stacey was all he could have, he would take it gladly.
Yes, it killed him, knowing that bastard put his hands on her, but going in guns blazing was not going to help the situation at all.
It would make Stacey hate him, for hurting the man she loves. So in the mean time, a little acting like he was clueless, with the scum that he despised so much was the best plan of action he had.
He would have to wait for her but he didn't know how much more he could take Jake was hurting the woman he loved, abusing her, crushing her.
Maybe the best thing to do was to go in and get her out of there if she hated him for it at least she would be free, he would be willing to lose her if it meant she was safe.
"Nothing mom i'm fi..."
"Don't give me the 'I'm fine' crap. You tell me the truth or I'm not cleaning your room anymore" she told him raising her eyebrow to show she was serious.
"Mom, seriously, I'm twenty years old I can...."
"That includes putting your washing away, might I add" she quickly added but they both knew that she couldn't help herself from cleaning his room and every other room in the house. Their house was like a show home, nothing out of place and not a spec of dust anywhere in sight.
With a groan, Ben began to tell her about the messed up situation, that was him being in love with his best friend of eleven years, her being in love with another man that is abusing her but he can't help her yet because she will hate him if he does, because thats how these domestic violence cases work right? The women think they love these bastards.
Stacey could have anyone she wanted, she was HOT, clever, funny and definitely didn't take any shit from anyone. The only other possiblity as to why she would let Jake or anyone for that matter, treat her like that was, if she felt like she owed them something.
