Not requested, just in a Glasnow mood after watching that babe pitch in game 1 hehe, enjoy!!
Lillian (Lily) Cash has the life that most 25 year olds dream of. Daughter of the Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash, living in a beautiful apartment in St. Pete Florida right by the beach, and not to mention she's a beautiful girl. Very good on the eyes, which you would think would attract a lot of handsome, nice men right? Wrong. Handsome, yes. Nice, not so much. Anywhere from getting played, used or straight up being cheated on by her boyfriend, Lily has never been with a boy who treats her well, or that gets her fathers approval. With her not only being his only daughter, but his only child, Lily's father has always been protective of his little girl, and has never liked any of the guys she's went out with. Safe to say he has a good eye for the bad ones, seeing as how they've all turned out.
Lillian may be in her 20's, but she's still her dad's little girl. He wants the best for his daughter, and if that means disapproving of every guy she brings to meet him then so be it. You would think with Cash being as protective as he is of his daughter that she wouldn't even bother getting close with one of his players, and that they would just know she's off limits. And that did hold true, until she met his superstar starting pitcher, Tyler Glasnow.
Lillian had never really been into baseball, but after getting cheated on by her last boyfriend, she needed something to take her mind off things, so she started coming to games and practices to distract herself. She also figured it'd be a good way to keep her close relationship with her dad. They've always had a great father/daughter relationship, but started to grow apart as she got older and her dad became a manager. She thought with her hanging around the stadium and clubhouse more they'd grow close again, and they sure did. Little did her dad know, there was another guy there that she was growing close to.
Lillian and Tyler's "relationship" started like most normal relationships do, by simply meeting and getting to know each other. With her hanging around the clubhouse she began to develop many friendships with the players, growing close with a handful of them. They were all like older brothers to her, except Tyler. She had felt something for him from the moment she met him, more than a friendship. She tried to stop herself from growing too close to him because she knew what would happen, but she just couldn't help herself. She liked him, a lot. And he liked her. He as well knew it wouldn't be a good idea to fall for his managers daughter, but you can't control feelings. They both knew that, so they just let it happen.
Were they an official couple? Technically no, Tyler had never asked her out because he was scared of what would happen once Cash found out. But did they act like it when no one was looking? 100%. Any chance they got to sneak around the clubhouse they took advantage of, sharing many secret kisses and intimate moments. But not in a hooking up way, in a "I like you and want to be with you" way. Which is exactly what Lillian has always wanted, but has never really found. The problem that once again stood in her way was her dad's approval, but for a different reason this time. Normally he doesn't approve because they're not nice guys and will take advantage of his daughter. This time it's a really nice guy that would treat his daughter right, only it's one of his players. Can she ever win?
One night, Lily and Tyler were laying in her bed at her apartment that she lived at alone, after they had got done doing you know what. He had her snuggled up on his chest as he traced his fingers up and down her bare body. "I think we need to tell your dad." He suddenly said, causing Lily to lift her head off his chest immediately and look at him. "What?" She asked in a rush. "I know you don't want to, but we need to. We can't have him catching us in a moment, and I want you to be mine, officially, but I can't do that until he knows." He said. Lily sighed, knowing he was right. "I'm so scared. What if he doesn't let us be together?" She asked in a worried tone. Tyler sat up, placing a hand on her cheek, caressing it. "Then we will cross that bridge if we get to it baby, but we have to do this." He spoke gently. She nodded her head in agreement. She knew it had to be done.
The next day after practice, Tyler had showered and gotten changed then headed off to Cash's office to talk to him. Lily had come to practice that day, as she also wanted to talk to her dad about what was going on. Tyler said he wanted to be the one to tell him though. He approached his office door and knocked on it, hearing a faint "come in" from inside. He opened the door and Cash looked up, smiling as he saw his star pitcher walking in. "Glasnow! Come on in. What can I do for you?" He asked as Tyler shut the door. "I want to talk to you about something, sir." He said as he took a seat in front of his desk. Tyler, or none of the players, ever referred to their manager as 'sir'. They always call him Cash, or coach, or even skipper. But to Tyler, he was no longer just his manager. He was his 'girlfriends' father, so he wanted to show some respect in the situation.
Tyler's heart began to race as Cash looked at him, ready to listen to whatever he had to say. "The last thing I ever want you to think is that I'm going behind your back, or not respecting you, so I'm going to be completely honest with you, coach." Tyler began. Cash began to listen intently. "With Lillian, your daughter, hanging around here lately, she and I have gotten to know each other and grown very close, and I like her sir, I really like her. I know you're careful with her seeing as she's your daughter and only child, and I know she's been through hell as far as boys, she's told me all about it, but I do like her. And if you give me your blessing, I'd like to be the guy that treats her the way she's supposed to be treated. I promise I will. I will be a good guy to her, and I wont hurt her in any way, ever. But I will only do it with your approval, and I wanted to be honest with you about the situation." Tyler finished, practically out of breath.
Cash hadn't said a word as Tyler spoke. He just listened to everything he had to say and took it all in. It took a moment, but eventually Cash started nodding his head. He gave Tyler a soft smile then picked up a picture frame on his desk as he stood up from his chair. Tyler stiffened a bit as Cash walked over next to him. He sat on the edge of his desk and turned the frame around, revealing it to Tyler. It was a picture of him and his wife with Lillian when she was younger. "This is my little girl, and she will always be my little girl. When Lily was younger she was the happiest girl in the world. Never met a happier kid in my life. I've seen her been mistreated countless times as she's gotten older, and I've seen that happiness fade away as a result of that. She's been very skippy and well, happy lately. Now I know why." Cash said. Tyler looked him in his eyes the entire time he spoke.
"I would never take away what's making my daughter happy, and if it's one of my players then so be it. Yes I am protective of my daughter, and I have every right to be, but if I know someone will make her happy and be good for her, he will always have my blessing. I think you're an amazing young man, Glasnow, and have a lot of respect and a very good heart. Treat her well, and you have my blessing." He finished. Tyler couldn't help but smile at his coaches words. Cash was a very chill guy, but he was expecting to have his ass handed to him after this. As he listened to him speak, however, he realized that all he wanted was for his daughter to be happy, and he knew Tyler could do that for her.
Tyler let out a sigh of relief. "Wow. Thank you, coach. And you have my word, she will be treated well." He said. Cash got up and pat Tyler on the back. "I know she will, she's in good hands." He said and smiled. Just then, the door behind them opened, and in walked Lillian. "Hi..." Was all she could muster out as she stepped in slowly. "Hey sweetheart." Cash said as he motioned for her to come in. "So, are you okay with this?" She asked hesitantly. Cash smiled and nodded. "Just make sure he gets to practice on time and keeps his ERA down, alright? He's now your problem just as much as he is mine." He said sarcastically. They both laughed, as Lily smiled and nodded her head. "Sure thing dad." She said. Tyler went over to Lily and put his arm around her as she squeezed his waist tight.
"Thank you for the honesty, I'm sure it wasn't easy." Cash said. Tyler let out a sigh and shook his head no as he said "It was not, but it had to be done." Lily looked up and smiled at him, giggling. "Dad, I've got a new boyfriend, but I think I'll keep this one this time." She said. They all laughed as Tyler held his new, or soon to be girlfriend, close to him. Finally, Lillian had found the one she had been looking for.
