"And then she said, 'I'll only have sex with you if you beat me at pool'." Roman grinned, leaning on the counter.

"What happened?" Virgil replied.

"Well, she lost at pool - deliberately!" Roman laughed.

"Oh my god, that is so awesome!" Virgil laughed too, nearly knocking over some cups.

It was a friday morning, and Virgil had been talking to Roman for nearly an hour now. There was nobody else in the shop, thankfully, so they could be as loud as they wanted. It was a couple days after Virgil had spoken to Patton, and he had awkwardly tried to spy to Logan ever since, trying desperately to get any information out of him. He had found out that he worked at the nearby space museum, but that was about it. Luckily, these awkward encounters were quickly followed by his daily talks with Roman, both at the coffee shop and after his shift. They talked about everything, and especially gossiped about patton and Logan. Roman had never heard of Logan before, so Virgil filled him in, and they hardcore shipped the pair, almost on a fanboy level.

"You know, Patton told me that him and Logan call almost every night." Roman sipped his coffee.

"Jeez, how haven't they gone out on a date yet?" Virgil responded, organizing flavourings behind the counter.

"I know right. Patton hasn't even asked him! Says he doesn't do anything without a good reason, so there's no point." He shrugged.

"Hmm..." Virgil nodded distractedly, taking a sip of water.

"You know that he ships us, right?" Roman smirked sarcastically.

Virgil resisted the urge to spit out his drink, "What?" He laughed, trying to sound natural.

"Yeah, I know right!" Roman laughed.

Virgil tucked his hair behind his ear and rubbed his neck anxiously, trying to hide his sight panic.

"Oh my god, I just realised something!" Roman exclaimed.

"What?" He asked.

"We could ask them on a double date!" He smiled, putting down his coffee excitedly.

"What do you mean? Like, we go on a date with them?" Virgil leaned a little closer, not believing what he was hearing, "As a couple?"

"Well, yeah, we would fake it, obviously. Seeing as they ship us anyway, it would be pretty easy." Roman shrugged.

"Yeah, yeah, obviously. Fake it..." he nodded, trying to contain his excitement.

"This is gonna be so much fun!" Roman smiled and glanced at his watch, "Oh, holy shit, I'm gonna be late!" He hastily grabbed his white backpack and his coffee, before shuffling toward the door, "I'm really sorry, Virgil! I'll, uh, text you the details! See ya!"

Waving him goodbye, Virgil gazed after him long past when he was out of view. His mind was whirling. A date? With Roman? Was this really happening?

Virgil reluctently continued on with his day, eager to leave and tell Patton what happened.

Virgil walked through the car park, squinting to see through the hazy twilight. Was this the right place? He glanced up and saw the sign above the building that read Views. Yeah, he thought, this was it.

By the time Virgil had gotten home from his shift on Friday, Roman had already made the group chat with him and Patton in it, and Patton had added Logan. It took a little convincing to get Logan on board with the plan, but they eventually agreed that they would meet up and watch a movie, as a 'double date'. And now, as Virgil made his way toward the movie theatre, he could feel a knot in his gut that seemed to be caused by a mix of excitement and overwhelming anxiety.
