CHAPTER 4

Lunch time and we went to the cafeteria. I walked to search for available tables, maraming students kaya halos wala nang vacant. Pero nung tumingin ako sa pinaka gilid ay nakita ko ang isang Royal Guard. He was pointing at the table that has a reserved stand on it.

Lumapit kaagad ako doon at umupo. Umupo rin si Haikawa sa tapat ko. Students couldn’t get over and they can’t believe that someone like Haikawa is sitting here with me.

Tumingin ako sa paligid para hanapin si Kuya Roger. Siya kasi palagi ang mag oorder ng lunch ko kaso wala siya ngayon at umalis na rin ang Royal Guard dito kanina.

“What do you want to eat?” Haikawa placed his bag on the table and looked at me.

“Huh?” Nagtataka kong tanong. “Hindi na kailangan. Kuya Roger will be here any minute now,” Sabi ko at tumitingin pa rin sa paligid.

“Sasabihin mo o ikaw ang pipila doon para bumili ng sarili mong lunch? They won’t serve you as long as I’m here,”

“What the?! Ano ka? Ako ang susundin nila at hindi ikaw!”

“Well..” He shrugged. “They listen to me now,”

Nalaglag ang panga ko ng iniwan niya nalang ako dito. Hindi niya man lang hinintay ang sagot ko kung ano ang gusto kong kainin! Should I go there and buy my own food? But I haven’t tried buying my own lunch! Should I call Kuya Roger?

Hindi nagtagal si Haikawa at may dala na siyang pagkain na bumalik rito. I thought he didn’t bought me food pero binilhan niya ako. He placed the adobo and rice in front of me. He also bought me water.

“Ginamit ko ang kapangyarihan mo,” sabi niya at umupo siya. He gave me the utensils so I could start eating.

“Kapangyarihan?” I tilted my head, getting confused at what he’s saying.

“Oo. They saw me from here and when I got there, they gave way. They knew it was your food I’m going to order. Isn’t that your power? Making everyone make way for you?” He sounded sarcastic with his question on the last part.

“I didn’t told them to do that,”
“You didn’t. But how you face them with your intimidating looks made them do so,” He shrugged and ate his food.

Hindi ko na siya pinansin at kumain na rin ako. While eating, his foot bumped mine. Natanggal tuloy ang pag dekwatro ko dahil sa ginawa niya. Nung una binalewala ko ito, because I thought hindi niya sinadya. But I felt his foot bumped mine many times already. He’s at it again! Annoying me!

“Ano na naman?!” Singal ko sa kanya matapos kong uminom ng tubig.

He looked at me innocently, “What?” Tanong niya na parang wala siyang ginagawang masama.

“What do you need? You’re annoying me again!” Tumingin ako sa ilalim ng lamesa at balik sa kanya.

“Oh,” Tumango siya at uminom ng tubig. He placed the glass on the table after and crossed his arms. “You forgot your manner, beloved Princess of this country.”

“No! You were the one who forgot your manners, no one in this country!” Humalukipkip din ako.

Nagtitigan kaming dalawa. I could feel the electricity our eyes were giving off. It’s like we’re having a battle inside our minds and I could see our powers kahit wala naman. Bawiin ko na sana ang tingin ko, I felt like he was staring through my soul. But he looked away first and cleared his throat.

I smiled. I won, huh! “Why did you agree to this?”

“Agree to what?” I saw him holding a mint and ate it.
