This story :
-it is a follow up to "Not My Name" if you haven't read that one shot this one might not make as much since, but it can still be read alone.

-This takes place four years later, they are both juniors in college.

"Lee! Down! Don't you coward away from the burn!" Coach yells at me over the loud workout music from his crouched sitting position on the other side of the gym.

I take another deep breath before squatting another time. This time pushing myself further down. I could feel my right calf burn as I held my position for a moment as the coach yelled at another player. Standing back up, the burning sensation never left as I squat once more. This time it only grew.

I could only do a few more reps before putting the bar back and clearing the weights. I set a new goal, but the pain in my leg is beginning to bother me as I walk to the weigh bench. Looking at the time, I realize we as a team have been in the gym for the past two hours with no breaks. And the starters have been here for a half hour extra. Despite this, my leg began to hurt more than usual.

Instead of continuing my workout, I decided to slip out unnoticed as coach yelled at the offensive linemen in the back corner of the gym. I knew it would be impossible for him to notice I'm gone with the others slacking off so much due to the time. I began to worry about the usal pain in my calf as I grabbed my belongings and headed to the elevator, but my luck ran out when I read the yellow caution sign that hung on the outside of the metal doors.

With a sigh, I make my way up the staircase that was located two doors left of the elevator. I knew the physical trainer and first aid was located on the next floor and I figured it would be good to get my leg checked out before practice tomorrow. The only times I had to get checked out were at the beginning of each football season due to some rule with the university, but never because of an injury.

When I made it up the stairs, the burning intensified and I wanted nothing more than to sit down. My thigh felt as though it was on fire. I quickly read the overhead signs to lead me to the first aid.

After two lefts and a long hallway, I was knocking on a red door with white stripes. I heard a yell from inside and seconds later the door was being opened.

"Sorry, Doc is already out for today, but-" the voice paused as the young girl looked up.

She seemed to be my age. Just a college student wearing a white jacket similar to one of the doctors, but instead of the title next to her name on the nametag, it simply read "Intern Katie". Wavy dark brown hair was pulled back out of her face in a low bun with strands giving up and falling in places. A pencil stuck out of one end while a pair of thick glasses sat on her head. Her dark green eyes looked up at me with confusion before something clicked. I knew this girl.

"Katie Bauex?" I didn't even mean for her name to slip out. I didn't even know I remembered her name until I did. Random memories of that camping trip, classes, and the rumors around school flooded in and I suddenly wondered how it took three years to notice we went to the same college after high school.

She looked down at the door knob that was still in her hand. "Yes? Um, Christian. Long time no see?" She let out a nervous chuckle before gasping when her eyesight lifted back to me, but was stopped when my legs came into view. "Oh my, you need to sit down."

Her hand let go of the door and latched onto my wrist. I was dragged inside and as the door shut behind me with a small slam, I was forced to sit down on a small white table.

It wasn't until I was seated that I noticed my calf had swollen up and was now a reddish color. I also didn't notice how warm it felt until Katie reached for my right calf with cold fingers. I made a hissing sound as she sat back on her small stool.
