A shadow climbs the forgotten memorial as night blankets the earth. Lands once fruitful fade and stumble; corruption seeps through every trail. Paths to glory are lost in dead foliage. To the world, I stand alone.
Smiles dim with each new revelation, winds come early to warn us of storms. There is light(ning) in their darkness, of course, but it disappears too quickly. Kay, you remind me of a flower... blooming, in spite of the torrent. Or, because of it. Personally, I've always been beaten down by the rain.
Last year, the water slipped into my veins. It froze with everyone's lack of trust, expanding until I cracked. Acid spilled out from the opening. My words grew harsher, my mind distant; I was focused on my own breaking.
The fog cleared all too late. My revenge secured, I returned to the fight... these scars reflect my bloodlust.
Stains. Memories. Reminders. No wonder I've gained little trust since then. Not to say they deserve mine either. There are never enough reasons to smile, you see.
Every cycle returns to the start. The only horizons bring troubles and storms. It is nothing to be watchful of, because it's nothing new.
Tell me again that everything changes. I'll show you how it changes back.
