Britain looked down at his paper.
No, don't look at it. Actually look at it again. Wait no don't do that. Okay maybe you can now. Bloody hell do you listen? Stop looking at it for God's sake. Wait what are you doing-?
"Stop. Stop stop stop..." Britain repeated again and again under his breath.
No, writing random stuff wasn't working anymore.
He slowly slid the paper off the desk, not looking at it once.
"I trusted you paper. Now you can't even keep me distracted."
It had been a few days since USSR left. It hurt him when he thought about it, so he decided to try and just deal with it. But it was proving to be a difficult task. It was winter now, and he didn't go outside anymore, even when it was night and he couldn't sleep, he knew that USSR wouldn't be there.
Rubbing his eyes, he slides his chair underneath the desk, not in a rush whatsoever. He made his way to the door, but turned around in surprise as soon as he reached it.
"Ah, a robin aye?" Britain said, but he didn't smile, nor did he show any emotion.
The robin looked back at him through the window, cocking their head to a side, acknowledging his existence in a way. The snow was falling this year, so that was fun. But it does mean it would be harder to drive to work. Ehh, you can always walk.
Britain went to the window, leaning in so he could get a closer look. It used to be a pastime he had when he was a kid, looking at birds from all the countries he visited, also was a reminder of the time a pigeon decided to perch on his window sill one day. It didn't go until he fed him, they were good friends from then on, even if the company could get annoying. He named him Jack. May be an odd name to some, but to him, it was just perfect.
"Are you going to go too? Just like everyone else?" Britain whispered to the bird.
He was referring to the time Jack got run over by a speeding van selling Fairy. You know, the bottle of washing up liquid.
He swore an oath on that day to hate Fairy for as long as he lived. He was so serious about it he-
Omg I was going to make a product placement there, real sorry there Jack. Just some habits I'm trying got avoid.
The robin didn't say anything back, just as expected.
Britain leaned back again, looking at the other things in the backround. The snow was creating a thin layer on the pavement on the roads, easily making it dangerous as it was getting slippery. Thin icicles started forming on the bare branches on the trees as well, it was calming.
Focusing on one spot in the landscape, he suddenly saw two countries moving towards him, chatting about something. For a moment Britain's heart skipped a beat, one country had a red flag, but then the beating slowed as he saw five stars in the corner instead of a hammer and sickle. China. She didn't wear a ushanka either, just a hair clip with a large golden star. Next to her was unmistakably North Korea, with a dark blue flag and large eyepatch with a star. It's common to see them together as China is one of North's only friends. Well, if you could even call it a 'friend' type.
As much as Britain despised eavesdropping, he couldn't stop his hand from opening the window so he could hear what they were talking about.
"Ehh, it won't hurt anyone if I hear a few words someone else is saying, right?"
