Jeongguk pouted as yet another servant shooed him away when he tried to offer his help with setting the table. He leaned against the wall and reached for his back pocket before stopping himself and slapping his forehead. He'd been doing that a lot. Reaching for his phone was just a habit everyone back in his time had, but back in time, he got weird looks for doing it.

Well it probably wouldn't look as weird if he actually had back pockets. Somehow the pants the king's husbands had bought for him came without back pockets, but it's not like he even needed them. The only thing he'd be putting there would be treats for Euphoria and the other horses.

He sighed and walked to a big window five feet away from him. He put his right hand against the glass and let his eyes slide over the sight of the town and the mountains behind it. It all looked so peaceful. The big lake, the horses galloping on the fields, carriages making their way in and out of town. What could possibly drive the king and his husbands away from their kingdom? He frowned.

The boy jumped when someone tapped on his shoulder. He turned to see it was Beomgyu, looking at him with concern written all over his face.

Gguk quickly smiled brightly and hugged the younger boy, kissing his cheek. He pulled away from him and quickly did the same to all of the other boys.

"There you are! My favourite dongsaengs!"

They all laughed and greeted him back. He grinned and headed to the dining table, pulling Huening Kai with him, the younger chuckling at his enthusiasm. "Sit down, guys!"

They all sat down and Gguk smiled at them. He'd miss them in his time. They were the people he talked and related to the most, since the age gap wasn't too big.

The boys gaped at the food and Gguk smirked. "I know right?! Who eats this much? Help yourself."

They immediately started filling their plates up with food, making Gguk laugh. "Slow down, guys."

Yeonjun flushed red and the others just ignored Gguk. "Sorry, hyung. We're just really hungry and this looks really good-"

Jeongguk shook his head with a smile. "I understand. I mean, you spend the whole day working, it only makes sense that you'd be eager to eat when you get the chance. Just please do me a favor and slow down a bit, okay? We don't want you getting sick now, do we?"

The boys smiled and shook their heads, finally slowing down a bit. Gguk put some food onto his plate and slowly ate it, trying to really savor it. Taehyun cleared his throat to get his attention. He looked his head to look at him with a questioning look in his eyes.

"Hyung, will you be attending the Holy Night Ball with the king and his husbands?"

Jeongguk grimaced in confusion. "A ball? When?"

Kai gaped. "They didn't tell you? Every year on Holy Night, the king hosts a ball and invites near kingdoms' royalty. This year will be the first year we'll be attending. So if you aren't going with them, you could come with us."

Gguk blinked, slowly taking it all in. A ball? He couldn't even dance. The boys snorted and he blushed, realizing he'd said that out loud. Soobin grinned brightly. "We can help you, hyung!"

Relief washed over Gguk and he grinned, nodding at the boys. "Well then you have the rest of the day off today. We're going shopping and then coming back here to dance. And hopefully, on my part, not get too many bruises out of it."

The younger boys laughed and they all finished their food, bowing to the servants, thanking them for the delicious meal. Gguk quickly pulled on a warm coat and they headed towards the stable, excitedly planning their day.

10 minutes later, they were racing to the city on their horses, laughing loudly and waving to passing guards. When they arrived at the town, they quickly dismounted their horses and handed them over to a man, who just grumbled and led them into a small stable for the time they'd be shopping.

Gguk chuckled at the boys' hesitance and pulled them along with a bright smile, heading over to the same shop the king's husbands had taken him too weeks ago. He quickly greeted the owner of the shop with a warm style and she smiled softly and came over to the group.

"What are you looking for, gentlemen?" The younger boys shrugged and Gguk laughed at them.

"We're looking for formal attire to wear at the um Holy Night Ball?" The woman grinned and pulled them to another section of the store. Gguk gaped at the clothes, suddenly feeling out of place. Yeonjun smiled at him warmly and he swallowed his anxiety, turning to look at the woman once again.

"What do you recommend?"

Half an hour later, they all had bags in their hands and were heading back to the stables to get their horses when Gguk stopped

Half an hour later, they all had bags in their hands and were heading back to the stables to get their horses when Gguk stopped. They looked back at him in confusion. "Hyung?"

He thought for a moment and then smirked, his dongsaengs starting to look nervous. "You guys want to help me get presents for the king and his husbands?"

Another hour later, they were finally done and retrieved their horses. Once they got back to the castle, they quickly brought the horses back to their stable and rushed inside, shivering because of the cold.

Gguk led them upstairs to his bedroom and made a fire in the fire place. He asked a servant for hot chocolate and ignored the raised eyebrows at him asking for something.

The six members sat down on the two couches in the room, cuddling up to each other for warmth. Gguk sighed into Taehyun's hair and thanked the servant for the hot chocolate, laughing at the way the younger boys all scrambled up to grab a mug each. Yeonjun handed him one and he smiled at him, grateful that he could just relax for a minute.

He felt Yeonjun sitting down beside him and turned to he could lean into him. The younger chuckled. "Sometimes you act like we're the older ones and you're the maknae."

Gguk hummed, closing his eyes and smiling at the way Taehyun began running his hands through Gguk's hair. "Well you guys act way more mature than me. I mean, you already work for god's sake. I don't even..."

He could hear Soobin shift on the opposite couch. "What is it hyung?"

Gguk's throat closed up and he rasped "I don't even know what I should do. Why I'm here. I just miss my family. So much."

Before he knew it someone was taking his mug out of his hands and Taehyun was wiping a tear away. He opened his eyes to see them all surrounding him. "And what's worse is that I'll really miss you all when I go back home."

He choked down a sob and felt all of them hugging him, breaking down then and there. "We know hyung. We'll miss you too. We love you. But you're still staying for a while. So lets cherish the time we get to spend with each other and when the time comes, we'll at least have only god memories of each other."

They were quiet for a few minutes, taking in Soobin's words. Then, Kai broke down laughing. "God, that was sappy, hyung."

Gguk snorted and they all laughed. When they calmed down, Gguk stood up and wiped his tears away. "Thanks. I love you too. Now, shall we dance?"

He bowed down and held a hand out to the younger boys. Beomgyu snorted. "Yeah, never do that again, hyung."

They all laughed as Jeongguk pouted.
