"RUN!!! " I screamed at Zoe, who was standing like a rag doll in the middle of the chase of a lifetime.
We were surrounded by miles of ice and snow. Not only that, we had no clue where we were going!
"I'm TRYING! I can't MOVE!!!" Zoe Hitlock screamed back at me.
Her blond locks were all over the place, thrown around by the wind. Leo started running backwards, towards the man who was chasing us.
We weren't exactly sure who this man was, but we could tell he was no good. The man looked like he was in his mid thirties. He had a large scar that crossed over his left eye. His pale eyes we're crazed, jumping from one place to another.
He had been chasing us for the past fifteen minutes. Ha! It felt like more like an hour! We were worn out and freezing, with the temperature being below 5 degrees.
As Leo reached Zoe, he scooped her up and carried her in his arms. Leo Curtis was the shy, quiet type, so I'm surprised he acted out. His dark skin looked pale, and his black, curly hair had a frosty tint.
"You would think that with all of this running we would be getting warmer," Dylan stated.
Boy, I wish that was true. This is the one time I actually wish I was sweating like a hog.
With Zoe on track again, we continued climbing the treacherous hills of snow. A death sentence with no other living organisms for miles. With this man still chasing us, we have no other choice then to run.
"Look! I see.... A blob?" Dylan pointed out.
What? I looked in the direction he pointed at and sure enough, there was a blob. As we got closer we figured it was some type of house. As we reached it, we looked back and could see that the man stopped all of a sudden. He stared at us for a while, and then walked away.
"What?" I said.
We had just reached this structure and it looked like a-
"It looks like a log cabin, " Zoe said, her emerald eyes staring straight into Dylan's deep brown ones.
Dylan Smith was the cutest guy in our whole school, and Zoe has been trying to get his attention for years.
As we walked inside, we could see a red plaid couch, with a wooden lamp side stand. A large, bulky stone fireplace sat at the back of the room, with a boxed television sitting top of it.
"Well, the windows were boarded up, so it must be abandoned." Leo claimed.
"Hey Jess-sick-a?" Zoe asked.
"Seriously Zoe. We are in the middle of NOWHERE. We are TRAPPED. There is NOWHERE to go, and you are STILL calling me by my high school nickname!?!? " I replied.
After a moment of silence she asked,"What did that guy want with us?"
"Well, all we know is that he is mad at us." Dylan said.
Continuing Dylan's thought, I said, "He is mad because we ruined to only day a year that the government has full control over us. SSD: Seasons Separation Day. The day we all find out our given destiny."
But I didn't used to think this way.
