"I will check the kitchen and living room, Jessica and Zoe can check the bedrooms and bathrooms, and Leo can check the basement. Sounds good?" Dylan said, taking charge.

Great. Now he want's to separate us.

"But baby, I wanna stick with you! Not Jess-sick-a," I said.

Jessica has been trying to steal Dylan away from me for years now. It's like she wants to ruin my life. It's bad enough that Dylan has been rejecting me for, well, forever. Now I can't even be around him without her trying to get all up in his face.

I watched as they rolled their eyes. Dylan said,

"You'll be fine for a couple minutes."

I quietly nodded my head. At least I wouldn't have to be near her if we were searching separate rooms.

I watched as Leo walked downstairs. I've always been curious about him. He is new to our school this year, and hasn't tried to talk to me. How rude! Some people say he is an alien. I guess it would explain why he doesn't want to communicate if that were true.

I entered the hallway where Jessica was standing. She said,

"I can cover the bedrooms if you want to cover the bathrooms."

Well look at her trying to boss me around!

"No, you can check the bathrooms and I'll check the bedrooms," I confirmed.

"Ok."

"Well, I mean, I guess the bathrooms are smaller, so I'll do those, and you can do the bedrooms," I said, changing my mind.

Plus, the bathrooms might have useful soap, cleaning supplies, towels, and toilet paper we can use. Maybe Dylan would notice me if I did something useful?

As I entered the second bathroom, I realized this was a mistake. The was absolutely NOTHING. Everything was empty, from the shower to the cabinets under the sink. Even the faucet didn't work! Haha, well, at least the toilets worked.

I realized I haven't went to the bathroom since before the Seasons Separation Day Ceremony, so I quickly went, then met Jessica in the hallway.

"What did you find?" She asked.

"Absolutely nothing."

"What!? You were supposed to look for materials we could use," She said in dismay.

"I did! I just couldn't find anything," I replied.

Great. Now Dylan is going to see me as a spoiled brat who can't contribute to our newly found group.

"Ugh. Let's just report back to the others," She said while walking back into the kitchen.
