Once it reached Thursday of the first week, Sophia was lounging in the courtyard with her friends, determined to make the most of the surprisingly sunny weather before it turned to the autumn drizzle and dark clouds that the Scottish highlands were so famous for.She lay sprawled over the cobbled floor, with her head resting on Severus' legs and her eyes closed in relaxation while the boy sat against a wall and scribbled into his potions textbook in preparation for their first lesson with Professor Slughorn of the term. Lily sat cross legged opposite him, calmly reading a muggle novel she had recently started and a comfortable silence surrounded the group.
Sophia could feel herself drifting off into a light nap at the peacefulness of the situation she didn't want to change. The marauders incident from the care of magical creatures class on the first day between Sophia and Severus had long been forgotten and the two groups still felt a distinct hatred for one another. Everything in the world was how it should be. So much so that Sophia had almost forgotten the moment between her and Sirius, but she had long since convinced herself that it was her overreaction and nothing more. It was Sirius Black, for merlin's sake.
"Oi, Lil." Sophia whispered to the two, opening her eyes and pointing subtly across the courtyard to where a group of Ravenclaws in the year above them were wandering towards the castle.
"Really Soph? Sixth years?" The redhead asked amusedly as she looked up from her book to glimpse the sight.
"Not plural, it'll just be Micah Stevenson." Severus pointed out in an amused tone as all three students watched the boy at the front of the group.
It was no secret to Lily and Severus that Sophia had always had a reasonable sized school-girl kind of crush on Micah Stevenson, despite the fact that the pair had never had a full conversation. From their first year, most girls in a variety of different years all found the older Ravenclaw very attractive. Indeed, anyone who wasn't pining for one of the marauders definitely hoped for a chance with Micah. Everyone except Lily, that is, who didn't have much of an interest in relationships.
Micah had sandy blonde hair and baby blue eyes, with a toned physique that came from being the Ravenclaw quidditch captain. He was tall and walked with an air of confidence, but without any sense of cockiness and it was something that Sophia deeply admired about the boy. He knew that most of the school had a crush on him, yet he had never let it get to his head; something the marauders had never excelled in.
As he turned to follow his friends through the doors to the castle, he noticed Sophia and flashed her an award winning smile, to which she turned beet red and hurriedly waved back in return. Once she had pulled herself down from cloud nine she caught sight of her friends' laughter and glared jokingly at them before pulling them both to their feet, and jokingly shoving them in the direction of the dungeons, and their potions class, feeling considerably lighter on her feet than before.
