i just realized after editing this and finally watching alice in borderland that the whole game thing is kinda similar. i originally got inspiration for this story line from the webnovel the earth is online, so watching the show was really interesting cuz there were a lot of things in common. nothing other than the game bit is similar to both medias so i hope i don't get attacked for "plagiarism."

Sungchul would much rather be anywhere else in the world at that moment. It wasn't that he was scared, no, it was rather that he'd prefer to be under the comfortable covers of his bed than there. He considered booking it back down the small trail that led up to the mansion for a second before pushing the thought down. With the tight grip Taeyong had around his wrist, it was almost impossible to go anywhere. And he liked his hand intact thank you very much.
"Remind me again why we're doing this? And why do I have to come with you?" he questioned, letting Taeyong drag him through the front doors of the house.
"Because why not." Taeyong replied as if that were good enough an answer.
Sungchul wasn't satisfied. He'd sacrificed a perfect Saturday night to be there just because Taeyong asked him to hang out. If he'd known that the "hangout" involved illegally trespassing in a house that hadn't been used in years and was probably one breath away from falling in on itself, he would've hard blocked his number right then and there.
So Sungchul gave him a sharp slap across the head, not blinking once when Taeyong winced, bringing his arm up to rub his head. He then gave a good jab to the side he'd left vulnerable, before casually moving forward to observe the room. He glanced back over his shoulder, ignoring the way Taeyong was clutching his ribs in pain.
"This is the last time I'm going along with your dumb ideas."
"You say that," Taeyong shook off the pain, walking forward and wrapping his arm around Sungchul's shoulders, leaning all his weight on him. "But you and I both know you have nothing better to do on the weekends."
Sungchul glared and shrugged his arm off, relishing in the way Taeyong nearly fell over from the sudden shift of balance. He walked back to the door, arms resting on his hips impatiently.
"Can you two hurry up? I want to go home," he called out.
Nicholas momentarily paused from where he was struggling to get Hanbin up the stairs. He sent Sungchul a pleading look, non-verbally asking him to help him out. Hanbin was refusing to step a foot inside the supposedly haunted house. He rapidly argued with Nicholas in a mixture of Korean, English and Vietnamese. All of which flew completely over Nicholas's head, although he was fluent in the first two languages, and decent enough in the third – per Hanbins request. They'd grown up together and Hanbin insisted on teaching him his mother language. And who was Nicholas to refuse him.
