'Stories are just stories,' Theo's mother used to tell him whenever he's heard a nasty story that gave him nightmares. Unfortunately she never got to see how real his story became. She never got to see just how real the story of the boy who tried became for him.

Later on that day the three Slytherin boys somehow ended  back in the same room, and again not talking about anything. Theo nearly fell asleep from the quietness, and if Draco's glass cup hit the floor he'd thought he might of heard ghosts.

"You clumsy dick," Theo grumbled, flicking his wand to clear the mess. "Why the hell did you do that?"

"It was an accident," Draco mumbled almost too quiet to hear. " I had a... shiver or something."

Blaise shifted in his seat, tilted his head and exhaled. "we've been here for hours, talking about nothing."

"We should know something by now," said Draco impatiently. "Where the fuck has Tonks gone? And Andromeda? And what-

"If you're that concerned, perhaps you should consider telling Tonks where they are-

"I've told you-

"Do you think you could kill you father?" Theo asked just out of curiosity and has been thinking about this for months. as he saw both his friends face turn to concern and confusion. The two boys exchanged puzzled looks, but Theo remained calm and relaxed waiting for an answer.

"What did you say?" Blaise and Draco both speaking up at the same time.

"I asked if you think you could kill your father," he repeated in the same tone as he did before. "I mean, we're probably going to have to help the order, and we'll be fighting against our parents. If it was necessary, could you, Blaise?"

Blaise shifted in his seat, he seemed to be in deep thinking but The thought this was just a simple yes or no answer. "I don't have a father."

"Your mother then."

"She's hardly a mother," he sighed as he was tapping his chin hesitantly. "I don't know. I... guess it would depend on the circumstances-

"She's about to kill you, maybe even Lovegood." Theo supplied quickly just wanting to hear a proper answer. "Could you do it then?"

"You've certainly given this a lot of thought," remarked Draco.

"There's hardly a busy schedule in this place. Answer the question, Blaise. Could you kill your mother, or not?"

"I don't know," he said again. "If it was Luna, possibly, but I have no idea. There's something..unnatural about shedding blood that's effectively your own. I guess it would be all come down to instinct, or even impulse."

Theo couldn't relate to Blaise's 'Blood is blood'.  He will kill whoever he needs to kill, if it's an asshole you kill it. Blood doesn't matter in this. But he didn't want to argue with Blaise, he will somehow prove Theo is wrong in the end. "and you Draco?"

"I haven't seen my father in over a year," he replied.  "I don't...even know what he's like."

"He's still a bastard."

Draco shocked Theo a raging glare and he knew he lowkey fucked up, he was ready for Draco to beat him up but he seemed to stay relaxed but kept the glare. Finally he opened his mouth to speak. "I don't know, Blaise is right, Blood is blood-

"And bile is bile, and shit is shit, and spit is spit, and sweat is sweat," Theo listed impatiently as he thought about how hard to get a yes or no answer. "It's all just biology."

"It's not that simple-

"What if he went for Granger?" he pushed. "And you know he wouldn't hesitate given the opportunity. What then?"

Draco closed his eyes and he looked like he was really ready to burst into rage and anger. but again like before he seemed to calm back down and Theo's panic slowly went away with it and decided to take down a notch on the determination.

"I..I don't know what I'd do," he confessed, clearing his throat. "I'd do what was necessary."

Theo just nodded with understanding and shrugged his shoulder to seem cool about it. He supposed they weren't wrong, spilling your own blood seemed to be more of a crime then someone else's because it's yours.

"I think he killed my father," he stated evenly trying to word it in less aggressive terms. "Yeah, I think I could. I think he deserves it. I think I'd be doing the world a favor." He paused to nod with confidence. "I don't think I'd feel a shred of guilt either."

His two Slytherin friends seemed to be taking in the information he confessed. They looked rather in conflict with their owners and Theo's.

"Well," said Theo, his voice upbeat trying to lighten the mood. "That was a very morbid and gloomy conversation, wasn't it?"

"You started it." Draco frowned.

"Someone had to. And it least it stopped you two whining about your girlfriends for a bit."

"And you prefer we discussed the death of our parents?"

Theo took a deep breathe. "I'd prefer we didn't discuss either, but it's all related. Death, love, blood, friends, enemies, partners. They're all synonyms when there's a war going on." mumbled Theo trying to remember what Ted once said to him and tried to sound firm. "Ted once said that wars are like the sea, unpredictable and unforgiving, and before you know it everyone's drowning."

Draco just stood up and didn't say anything and gave the two boys a nod and left the room. Blaise looked up at Theo and crossed his hands together.

"Well, you sure have a lot going on in your mind, mate." Blaise mumbled.

Theo just shrugged and left the room, departing from the depressing energy he created. His pace back to him room was slow and steady but uncertain. He couldn't stop but think if he would actually ever have to face his father or even have the guts to face him. He's always been a disappointment but being the families only heir he was going to inherit everything so he's never worried.

When he finally reached his room which felt like a much longer journey than usual. He collapsed onto his bed and felt a something hard hit his head under the pillow. He digged his hands under the pillow and felt the book. The book Pride and Prejudice that Ted gave him. He really liked the book, and somehow his mind trailed to the day when he and Luna had an argument about it.

It was a stupid argument that he found now funny, and without realization he started to smile at the memory. He flipped opened the book to research his favourite quotes.

"How little of permanent happiness could belong to a couple who were only brought together because their passions were stronger than their virtue." He read quietly to himself. He isn't one to know much about love, obviously. But he just never understood why the entire world revolved around it.

What was so good about it, and why did everyone seem to need it. His mind trailed off to the weak and pathetic Romeo, the one who died for something as rubbish as love. How tragic.
