Marinette has trauma from the shooting, as well as a lot of guilt. Ladybug can't get over not being able to fight, and Hawkmoth picks up that Ladybug is still fixing the damage but not fighting. Takes note of this. Marinette visits Alya in the hospital, says she is sorry, and goes for an ultrasound appointment.
Marinette stared at the school wall, her hands shaking. Adrien got a phone call from his father but decided to just text him that he was okay. He didn't want to start up any conversations with him. The buses were loading students, so Marinette climbed the stairs, looking at the ground.
Everyone had gotten hurt because of her. Alya, and Chloe...
Marinette's eyes welled up, but she closed them to prevent herself from crying. "Okay," Adrien sat beside her, while she looked out the window. "Adrien, what do we do now?" Marinette whispered as he touched her shoulder.
"For akumas, Alya can't help, and Nino may not want to, and then I can't help because of this situation, and I don't want to leave you alone-" "Aha, I missed your rambling," Adrien smiled as she continued to frown.
"Yes, I was thinking about that. Nothing about your situation will change, though," Adrien said as Marinette turned away. "Hey, what's wrong," Adrien asked as the school bus shook. "The person, we need to know who it is," Marinette said as Adrien looked at her, confused.
"The person who shot the gun?" Adrien confirmed. "Yes," Marinette's voice almost quivered from the sadness. Adrien leaned back in his seat. "I...I don't think I'll ever forget that moment," Adrien covered his face.
"Me either," Marinette hugged him as he wrapped his arms around her. "You're right, we need to find out the culprit," Adrien said closing his eyes while sighing. "How do we do that?" Adrien asked as Marinette smiled slightly.
"Ladybug and Chat Noir may just have to make an appearance,"
*** "What's going on over here," Ladybug swung her yo-yo onto the school grounds. "Ladybug," the police noticed her and Chat Noir. "Was there a shooting?" Ladybug asked, being oblivious. "Y-Yes, but no one in or out of the school," they said as Ladybug looked at Chat.
"But we need to go in," Ladybug said as they shook their heads. "You two could be arrested for the murder suspect, and we do not know if you're the ones who fired the gun," The officer said as Ladybug crossed her arms.
"It wasn't us," Ladybug confirmed. "Then, why weren't you there when the gun fired," the officer shot back. "Because we were in our own lives, we don't just sit around waiting for villains to attack," Ladybug said almost immediately.
"Okay," Chat stood in between both of them. "When are we allowed to come to the school?" Chat asked as Ladybug put her arms behind her back. "After we do a full search of the school, looking for the weapon," The officer said as someone ran out. "Over here!" an officer said as the one they argued with followed.
Ladybug and Chat looked at each other and quickly followed them. "A note?" Ladybug questioned, picking it up. "Drop it!" The officer said as they pointed the guns at Ladybug and Chat.
"WHAT THE HELL!"
Ladybug screamed, whirling her yo-yo. "We are NOT the murderers!" Ladybug said quickly after. "You two are major suspects, wearing masks, full-body suits," "How many times have we saved Paris, and you don't believe us!"
Ladybug was getting agitated. "Just drop the note, and leave the sight now!" The officer shouted. Ladybug was going to protest, but Chat grabbed her arm, signaling it was time for their departure.
They dropped off at Marinette's house and stretched their legs. "I saw the first couple of letters!" Ladybug said as Chat laughed. "Helpful," he said, going on his baton. "Look, I took a picture," Chat said as Ladybug high-fived him.
"Alright," Ladybug stared at the paper.

Ladybug didn't know where to start. Was the shooter trying to get caught? "What do we do with this?" Ladybug looked at Chat in desperation. "I...the numbers maybe?" Chat looked at it with her.
"Do you see the part where it says 'every person you hate goes to death?'" Ladybug said as Chat nodded. "But it looked like a grown man! It couldn't have been someone from our class," Ladybug said quickly after.
"I mean, they could have paid someone to do it! Someone with manipulative powers," Ladybug looked at Chat as he shook his head. "Come on, I know that Lila may hate you, but that would be a bit extreme, even for her," Chat stood up.
"But, you don't know her as I do! She's always nice to Adrien, but she hates Marinette!" Ladybug protested. "And think about it, she loved Adrien and now I'm with Adrien, so of course she would hate Marinette! Even when we told her about my pregnancy, she just left the room!"
"True, but we should probably figure out what the numbers mean," Chat said in a calm tone. "Why don't you believe me! We have proof!" Ladybug said, tilting his face up to see hers. "Of course, I do," Chat reassured.
"But, other people think that Lila would never, and she protested herself, remember when you almost got expelled?" Chat noted as Ladybug sighed. "I suppose," Ladybug de-transformed and sat at her desk.
"Okay, I'll look up some number puzzles like this, you try and figure out the code, alright kitty-cat?"

Okay, so Marinette thinks that the culprit is Lila. And, actually, if you guys want, you can figure out the puzzle too! I'll give you a small hint. You have to use the numbers, and if you're on the right track, the first letter should be 'b'.
