Carlos POV
"How was the book? Have you read it?" Miguel asked once he entered my office.
"Still in the midst of that. Why are you here?" The truth was I completed the book on the first day I got it from the bookstore. I won't tell him about the truth, thinking about the possibility that it will become a joke among them later. I shifted my attention away from my laptop looking at him that was dressed in his blue suit.
"Don't tell me you forget about it. We are going to hang out later with Tristan and Manuel." He said taking a seat across my table. I sighed hearing his word. I really forget about it and wasn't in the mood neither to hang out. My mind was occupied with the book for the last few days. I'm planning to read it again tonight.
"I don't think I will be joining later," I said refusing him.
"No way, we are not going to take that as an answer. They wouldn't agree with either. Don't be the joy killer." He warned.
I sighed at his persistence. The four of us were really close with each other and we always hang out together at our favorite bar on Friday night and weekend.
"Will I ever have my me-time?" I questioned irritably.
"You will have that once you have your girlfriend." He hollered laughter and stood away from the chair.
"See you at 7, don't forget or else we will barge into your house. You know that." He chided and strode to the door ready to leave.
"Yeah, I will be there, by force!" I replied ignoring his laughter that echoed in my room.
Nighttime
"You are here, finally." I heard Manuel's voice at the moment I walked closer to the VIP room on the second floor of the bar where three of them were already seated with a bunch of drinks on the glass table.
"Yeah, by force anyway." They chuckled at my reply. Tristan poured me some drink and handed me the glass that contained red liquid.
"Come on, since when do you need your me-time?" Miguel teased me while laughing at his own remarks.
"Miguel said something happened during your business trip last week. What was that about? We heard that someone said she will marry you." Tristan's words make me having a flashback of the memory of last week. A sweet memory instead and I wouldn't mind if it keeps appearing in my head.
"Gossiping about me, huh?" I mocked, taking a sip of my drink.
"We don't call it gossiping but this is call brotherhood's support. You can share with us about the girl that keeps dancing in your mind." Miguel exaggerated it.
"Do you think my mind is a dancing place for people to dance? No one is inside my head." I fibbed. It caused them to laugh.
"Don't lie. We know she is the one that makes you want to have some time alone which sounds absurd." Manuel chuckled and followed by the rest.
"If she is not the one, maybe you wouldn't mind if I try her out. Even though I didn't see her face last time but from her voice, I think she looks decent and pretty." Miguel's comment made my eyes widened.
"Don't you dare," I warned him, still in a friendly way, straight to the point.
"Wooo," they teased me and I could see that they enjoyed it damn much.
"Someone is falling in love," Tristan said which make me shook my head.
"I'm not falling in love." I shook away their thought.
