MinHye’s POV
The week was a blur and we spent most of our times running from school to our home. If we had the same schedule, Jimin and I would go home together, but if he had his early dismissal due to his irregular schedule for being a college students, he goes ahead to be with grandma.
In the past week, the love I’ve been yearning from her was now being given to us generously. Jimin and I would have walked her to the backyard as we stroll around the grassy lawn or sometimes we’d swim with her watching over us, laughter and smiles shared by each one.
“Aigoo, you kids are so playful.” My grandmother said, sitting on the bathing benches as she watches over us while Jimin and I swam and played with water, splashing it on eachother. We haven’t been much concerned with business and when I tried to consult about it, grandma would say that she’d want to spend as much time with us for now, and so I complied and so did Jimin.
“Halmuni… you’re in your summer clothes anyway, right?” Jimin asked and I smirked.
“MinHye made me wear this bathing suit inside even though I kept telling her that I won’t be swimming.” She said, rolling her eyes playfully. Compared to the first time mom made me go home and grandma greeted me with shaky hands, she’s stronger and much more livelier now; and I’m glad.
“Well, I had a reason for you to wear that, halmuni.” I smiled and Jimin started splashing water towards her, making her scream in her place as the water drenched her clothes.
“You little—“
“We love you grandma!!” Jimin and I shouted at the same time and her anger subsided and a soft smile greeted us.
“I love you both, too.”
I was on my way home, checking my phone for a message but none was received.
Why am I even waiting for a message from him? It’s all business right? This engagement meant nothing to him, why should it mean something to me? Remember. No strings attached.
I shook my head and made my way directly to the black car when Yoongi jogged up towards me.
“MinHye.” He called out and I stopped and waited for him to be standing infront of me.
“Hey.” I smiled.
“How’s Madam Park?” he asked, and I gave him a smile.
“Doing great. She’s been home lately and I’m glad. She always over works herself with her company, but now she’s spending more time with us.” I couldn’t help my smile showing a lot brighter ever since things around me kept getting better. Meeting true friends who care, knowing that even though it started as a requirement friend, Minah and Sojin never left either, getting closer with my cousin, Jimin, meeting Yoongi and Taehyung and… yeah. I don’t think Jungkook would be happy to be one of the reason why I’m happy.
“I’m glad you’re smiling more often.” He let out a relieved smile. “Well, I’ll catch up with you next time, I guess. I heard from Jimin your grandma wants to spend as much time as she has with you.” Yoongi gave me a pained look before flashing his sympathetic smile.
“Wait. What do you mean—“
“I have to go.” He said, pulling his phone out of his pocket as he answered a call. I can tell it was business as his tone changed from friendly to authoritative. He gave me a single wave before walking to the college parking lot.
Your grandma wants to spend as much time as she has with you…
What does that mean? What was he saying?
