Japan ; 22 August ; Saiki

Y/N sat across from me, her head resting in her hand as she watched intently as Kaido told her about Dark Reunions plan to take over the world while flapping his hands around, excited someone was paying him any attention. Nendou was unfortunately sitting next to me and across from Kaido. Nendou nudging me breaks me from my trance of watching Y/N's eyes.

"Does she actually believe what he's saying?" He whispers to me about Kaido and Y/N.

I look at Nendou like he's an idiot, so as I would normally. He blinks at me, awaiting a response I wouldn't give him the pleasure of receiving.

"...But the worst part is that they stole my wallet and I can't contribute towards the bill!" Kaido finished.

Y/N's eyebrow raises and she turns to me with a confused look. Our ramen bowls sat empty in front of us as a waiter hurried over to clear away the used chopsticks, glasses and other various items we had used to eat our food.

"Would you like the bill?" The waiter asked. Wait- is that... I look at the waiter and notice her red low pigtails and glasses. It is. It's Mera. How many jobs does she have?

"Mera! Hi." Kaido waves at her slightly and she smiles.

"Hey guys! I was so busy working I didn't even notice it was you sitting at this table!" She giggles and glances over at another waiter bringing out more ramen for a table nearby. She drools slightly.

"Are you from school?" Y/N asks, breaking Mera from her food trance. Mera smiles and closes her eyes as she nods.

"You're the new student, aren't you?" Mera pats Y/N on the head.

"Yep!" Y/N excitedly replies, fixing her hair. Mera looks between me and Y/N and her mind begins to figure out if we were together or together.

"I think we would like the bill." Kaido stops the girls from continuing their banter. He's rather keen to get the bill for someone who doesn't have their wallet.

"We have coupons." Nendou pulled out his and Kaido's coupons. Kaido blushed, realizing he didn't even need to make a story about why he couldn't pay.

Y/N opens her bag and takes out mine and her coupons. Mera takes then all and stares at them for a second, checking their validity.

"Thank you so much for coming. Please come again. I'll see you all at school!" Mera smiled. She ran off back to the kitchen.

"She seemed nice." Y/N says as she slides out of her seat. "Shall we go over to my house to watch a movie?" She stretches onto the top of her feet again, stretching her arms as far above her head as she can.

Kaido's mind flooded with innocent thoughts of how amazing Y/N is. I suddenly got a weird feeling in my stomach. The ramen probably just upset my digestive system.

"R-really?" Kaido began sliding out of the booth. I get up and stand next to Y/N. Kaido makes eye contact with me as he gets out of his booth and shrinks slightly. "I mean, if everyone wants to go then I'd love to!" Kaido smiles politely.

Nendou mindlessly and clumsily falls out of the booth we were sharing, landing miraculously on his feet. "I think my mom wants me home. Needed help with something or another. You know what mothers are like."

I know Y/N is sensitive about talking of mothers because she hardly sees hers. Being an author, Y/N's mum is always too busy with her books to even look Y/N's way. I put my hand on her shoulder and she seemingly snaps her spine straighter for a second. She relaxes and nods at Nendou.

"That's okay. We can hang out some other time." She smiles at Nendou and we all begin to walk back towards Y/N's house. It isn't much further than mine, so we stop by Kaido's house so he can tell his mum he's going over to Y/N's with me and her to watch a movie.

When we reach my house, Nendou says his goodbyes and we split paths. We walk past my house and to Y/N's house. Once we arrive, Kaido seems to become a lot more shy.

Y/N tells us her parents are out and that we should go to the living room and make ourselves comfy while she makes popcorn. Kaido and I walk down the hall and past the stairs and into the second door on the right.

A welcoming fireplace sits against the left wall, a big window on the front wall, opposite the doorway. A grand dark-wooden shelf rests on the left wall, decorated in photo frames, snowglobes from the places Y/N's mum had visited, and, of course, books. Above the fireplace is a large TV. In front of it, a coffee table made of the same dark-wood as the shelf sits bare, except for the single sunflower in the middle, the flower Y/N found outside my house the day before. In front of that table is a three-seater couch made of a gray fabric, with a white fluffy blanket resting on it. A few throw pillows decorate it, depicting random letters, as if being a word search puzzle waiting to be solved and read. In front of the window is a love-seat of the same material as the couch, being decorated with the same pillows.

Kaido, having left his shoes politely at the front door, tiptoed into the living room. His socks met the carpet under the table and couches and he quickly sat in the first spot on the couch. I watched him unintentionally intensely, seeing how comfortable he got, as if he could somehow be too comfortable. Why was I doing this? I shake my head and walk around the coffee table and fireplace. Kaido's eyes studying me politely as I sat on the other end of the couch, leaving a spot between us for Y/N.

"So... You've been here before, right?" Kaido broke the silence. I nod.

"I saw photos of you and Y/N on that shelf. Have you guys been friends for longer than the rest of us have known her?" Kaido kept trying to make conversation, but I still didn't look at him. I did however, nod again.

"Are you two- you know..." Kaido swallowed loudly as I suddenly look at him. He knew not to finish his sentence. Why was I acting like this.

We hear footsteps excitedly plodding down the hallway and into the living room.

"Popcorn!" She giggled and fumbled over Kaido's legs to put the popcorn on the table. She then steps over me to get the remote control from the top of the fireplace. She grabs it and turns on the TV, throwing the remote at Kaido.

"Pick a film. We can watch it together!" She smiles as he almost doesn't catch it, blushing profusely. She doesn't notice and instead looks at me, smiling as she walks over and past me to sit between Kaido and I.

Kaido picks a movie and it begins to play. Y/N compliments his choice and scoots slightly towards me, resting her head on my shoulder comfortably.

I think about resting my head on top of hers. But I don't. Why am I acting like this?
