Chapter 14: On The Way

June 2013

Mabel and Dipper sat on a bus looking over a letter. It was raining outside and Waddles sat next to Mabel, she was feeding him an apple.
"Dipper, read it again." Requested Mabel as she smiled watching Waddles.
"Ok, Dear Mabel and Dipper, Stan and I finished our business in the artic ocean so we thought we'd come back to the Mystery Shack and spend another summer with our favorite neice and nephew. Stan and I will be back at the Mystery Shack a few days after you arrive. Dipper, I have a few things I would like to discuss with you,
Your Great Uncles Stanley and Stanford Pines." Said Dipper as he closed the letter. "I wonder what Great Uncle Ford wants to talk to me about?" Wondered Dipper as he sighed happily.
"I'm so excited to see them again! Dipper, look I made them sweaters!" Said Mabel as she pulled out to adult sized red sweaters, one with the same symbol that Ford put on his journals, the other had the symbol that was in Stan's old fez hat.
"You showed me them six times, Mabel!" Groaned Dipper as he sighed.
"Dipper thanks for wearing the sweater I made you." Said Mabel as she hugged Dipper who was wearing a white sweater with a blue pine tree on it. He also wore Wendy's hat and a hoodie over the hand knitted sweater.
"Well it was raining and...." Dipper trailed off trying to make up an excuse for just doing what she asked. "Your welcome." Said Dipper as he blushed.
"Dipper do you think we'd see Onica again?" Asked Mabel as Dipper fished through his bag for his phone.
"Actually I think I mentioned this to you but you weren't really listening so... but anyway I got a text from Wendy a while back saying Onica had come back to the Mystery Shack returning to her old role as Onica the Amazing, though she decided to go by a different name. It's Onica the Sorceress." Said Dipper as he scrolled through his texts with Wendy. "Ah there it is!" Said Dipper as he tapped on a picture of Onica and Piper standing outside the Mystery Shack in a newspaper picture. "She was interviewed by the news, but something that confuses me is that I read in Great Uncle Ford's journal about Onica that she gains her immortality slowly after puberty and she looked like 16 year old when we met her but now she looks the age she would be by now, maybe she has some sort of control over what age she looks." Monolouged Dipper as he handed Mabel his phone. She looked at the picture.
"I don't think I've ever seen her this happy, but then again I've only seen her a few times." Said Mabel with a smile. Dipper continued his thoughts then pulled out a journal of his own. It was royal blue with a silver Pine Tree in the center of the cover with a 1 put in the center of the Pine Tree. He began to write in the journal then started chewing on the pen, Mabel then snapped a rubber band on Dipper's wrist.
"OW!" Exclaimed Dipper as he rubbed his wrist.
"I thought you said you gonna try and stop chewing on pens, your teachers got really mad at you this year. I don't think their gonna allow you to have pens if you do that in high school!" Said Mabel as Dipper rolled his eyes.
"You're right Mabel." Said Dipper as he immediately regretted saying that.
"Who's right? MABEL'S RIGHT! SAY IT AGAIN DIPPER!" Demanded Mabel as she stood on the seat.
"Hey sit down!" Yelled the bus driver as Mabel immediately follwed as intructed.
"Sorry!" Said Mabel as she sat back down in the seat.
"Do you really have to do that everytime?" Asked Dipper as he sighed.
"I mean kinda, your the smart one so I'm right and you're wrong it's kinda a big thing to celebrate." Said Mabel with a smile as Dipper shook his head.
"Ok then." Said Dipper as he giggled at Mabel being silly.
"I can't wait to see Candy and Grenda! I have so much to tell them! Like about my boyfriend!" Said Mabel with a huge smile.
"Ugh, do have to mention him?" Asked Dipper with a groan.
"Look I know you don't like him but can you at least try to pretend to like him, Drake is a good guy, Dipper. I just wish you could see that." Said Mabel as she crossed her arms.
"Look Mabel I just don't trust a guy that has the same record of romances as you do." Said Dipper as he shook his head.
"What is that supposed to mean Dipper!?" Demanded Mabel as she was quite offended.
"Well what I mean is it means a whole different thing when a boy's dated that many girls." Said Dipper as he panicked.
"I think your just making excuses over the fact that you don't trust him!" Said Mabel as she turned her head away from Dipper as he sighed.
"Mabel can we just be happy that we're spending another summer in Gravity Falls?" Asked Dipper as he put his hand on Mabel's shoulder.
"Yeah I guess." Said Mabel as she turned and faced him. "Awkward Sibling Hug?" Asked Mabel with her arms spread wide.
"Awkward Sibling Hug." Said Dipper with a smile as he accepted the offer and they hugged.
"Pat. Pat." They said as they did the pats they always did.
