I Never Thought He Would Love Me! (Midoriya x Todoroki)

Chapter One: Confession

Midoriya sat in homeroom staring blankly. Aizawa sensei was droning on about something or other, he wasn't paying attention. He was too busy trying to keep his nerves in check. Today was a very big day. A very very very big day. He can't mess up. It wasn't an exam or anything like that. He was doing something far more important...and scary. He was going to confess his love to someone very special. Someone he can't stop thinking about. He was going to tell them that he loved them.

Todoroki Shoto.

Just hearing that name alone made Midoriya blush. It made him all giddy inside. He had it all planned out. He left a note for Todoroki-kun in his bag to meet him at the forest arena, which was one of the places where they often did hero training, but he wasn't going to sign it, he didn't want Todoroki-kun to know it was from him. Then, when he arrived at the spot mentioned in the note, Midoriya would be there waiting for him and would then hand him a letter he had written confessing his love and wait for the answer. Midoriya was so nervous, he knew there was a 50/50 chance that Todoroki-kun would say "no". 60/40.......70/30.........80/20......SHIT! He can't do this. He'll say "no" and then everything would be so awkward. He'll get outed. No one knew he was gay, not even Uraraka. No one would talk to him again. The fear was really setting in now. Why hadn't he thought of this beforehand. Why didn't he realise. Midoriya was going to chicken out. There's no way he can do this.

But wait! He had already left the note in Todoroki-kun's bag. There's no way out of it now. He just has to keep it together. Whatever happens...happens.

The bell rang to signal the end of the day. This is it. He needed to rush over to the spot mentioned on the note before Todoroki-kun does.

"Deku-kun!" Uraraka called. "A few of us are going to check out the new shop that opened in the shopping centre, do you want to come?"

"Sorry Uraraka-san. I've got something important to do. See you tomorrow". He said as he rushed out the room. He felt bad brushing Uraraka-san off like that but he really really needed to hurry.

He ran as fast as he could. As if his life depended on it. Well, I guess his life did depend on it. He eventually reached the spot. Under a humungous tree in the middle of the area. He was the first one there. Great! Midoriya had a little time to prepare himself before Todoroki-kun arrived. He was trying to decide how to stand. Should he have the letter in his hand? Should he hide? He had no idea. Eventually he just decided to stand right under the tree with the letter in his hand.

Midoriya stood there patiently. But there was still no sign of Todoroki-kun. Midoriya checked the time on his phone. He had been waiting for an hour.

The sound of thunder could be heard and the rainclouds started to open. Midoriya looked up at the sky as the rain started to pour. The rain splashing on his face as tears start to fall. Todoroki-kun wasn't coming. Midoriya admitted defeat and decided to go home. He walked slowly towards his flat, he was completely soaked, tears streaming down his face, the letter still in his hand all soggy, the ink running leaving the letter illegible. He can't believe he even thought Todoroki-kun would even be interested in him. He couldn't believe he actually thought he had a chance with Todoroki Shoto...

"How stupid of me..." Midoriya sniffed.

He reached his flat, where his mum greeted him.

"Izuku! You're completely soaked! Why didn't you use an umbrella! Wait...have you been crying?" She asked concerned.

"I'm fine Mum! I'm going to my room!"

"But, what about dinner?"

"I'm not hungry" he said going into his room, slamming the door.

Midoriya leaned against the bedroom door and slid down curling up into a ball. He started to cry again.

"I can't believe I was that stupid! Of course he wouldn't have come! He wouldn't be interested! Why would he be! No one would ever love a freak like me anyway..."

Midoriya just lay there on the floor. Crying.

Why did he have to fall for him?
