Chapter Five: The Boy I Like Sent A Text

"Midoriya texted me! What do I say? How do I respond?" Todoroki-kun said to himself as he paced back and forth from one end of the room to another. It was just a simple text but it sent butterflies to his stomach. He obviously needed to pretend that he was sick. Only a little sick though, he didn't want Midoriya to worry unnecessarily.

"Hi Midoriya-kun, I'm ok. It's just a little fever. I just needed to rest today. Thanks for your message but no need to worry"

*Ping!*

"Oh no! That's not good. I can come by after school and bring you some soup"

"No no, it's ok. It's not a big deal! I don't want to put you out"

*Ping!*

"No, it's fine! I'll bring some soup round after school"

"SHIT!" Todoroki-kun exclaimed. He shouldn't be surprised. Of course Midoriya was going to show concern and do something so sweet. But now he was going to come over. Todorkoi-kun started to hyperventilate. Midoriya was coming over, he needed to pretend to be sick or something. He started to panic. He didn't want Midoriya to realise that he made it up, but was also nervous about being alone with Midoriya. They've never really had that much alone time before. Would he be able to control himself?

Wait...could this be an opportunity?

Todoroki-kun stopped in mid-panic. If he was going to get some alone time with Midoriya, could this be his chance to maybe...tell him how he felt? Is this the opportunity he'd been waiting for to tell Midoriya that he loved him?

"But...how would he react?" Todoroki-kun asked himself.

This was a complicated situation. It's not like Midoriya is a girl. He's a boy. Not everyone is comfortable or accepting of 2 boys together. There's no way to know if Midoriya is even gay or even what his thoughts are on the matter. If Midoriya isn't gay, how would he react to the fact that Todoroki-kun is? Midoriya might not want to be friends with Todoroki-kun anymore. He might not want to be friends with a gay person. And even if he was gay and by some miracle, returned Todorki-kun's love, how would others react. Would they be accepted? Or would they be shunned?

Todoroki-kun started to well up a little. He couldn't bare to lose Midoriya. He would have to make a choice. He either has to risk losing Midoriya altogether, or bury his feelings forever. Either way, Midoriya is coming over. Todoroki-kun will need to decide if this is the moment to tell him or not.
