I Never Thought He Would Love Me! (Midoriya x Todoroki)

Chapter Seven: Alone Time

Todoroki-kun is franticly pacing around his living room. He's trying to tidy up before Midoriya arrives. He wants to try and make the place look presentable. Wait! HE needs to look presentable! He runs to the mirror, making sure his hair is all neat and tidy and ensure he doesn't look like he's been dragged through the bushes. He's so nervous about Midoriya being here. This would be the first time that they've been properly alone together.

*Sound of the door bell ringing*

"Shit!" Todoroki-kun exclaims. "He's here! He's here! Oh my god!". Butterflies have filled his stomach. He has to pull himself together. This could be his chance. The opportunity he's been wanting.

He promptly walks to the door. With his hand on the door handle, he takes one last deep breath and opens the door:

"Hey Midoriya!" he says opening the door.

"H-Hi Todoroki-kun... How you feeling?" Midoriya shyly asked.

"Feeling a bit better thanks. Please come in."

Midoriya slowly walks in and takes his shoes off. Todoroki-kun closes the front door. Taking another deep breath.

"Here..." Midoriya says holding up the plastic bag. "I brought some soup".

Todoroki-kun looked at Midoriya. He thought it was really sweet of him to do that.

"Thanks, Midoriya".

Midoriya smiled which made Todoroki-kun blush.

"Please, take a seat in the living room and make yourself comfortable"

Midoriya sat on the couch while Todoroki-kun took the soup to the kitchen. Both their hearts were pounding quite noticeably and the butterflies in their stomachs were going crazy.

Todoroki-kun sits on the couch next to Midoriya. His hands were sweaty. Heart pounding. Breathing heavily.

"S-S-So, how was school?" Todoroki-kun nervously asked.

"Y-yeah, it was ok. The usual. You didn't really miss a lot" (Actually, Midoriya doesn't remember because he was thinking about visiting Todoroki-kun all day and how nervous that made him).

"Oh ok. That's good I guess" Todoroki-kun responds.

(Come on idiot! Say something else!)

They sat in silence. Midoriya looked down, twiddling his thumbs. He was thinking of what Uraraka said. He wanted to take his chance. This was probably the best opportunity to confess to him. He was so nervous. He kept thinking of what could happen if Todoroki-kun rejected him. He still wasn't sure what to do.

If only he knew Todoroki-kun was thinking the exact same thing.

"C-Can I use your bathroom?" Midoriya asks breaking the silence.

"Sure. It's down the hall, 1st door on the right"

Midoriya promptly walks to the bathroom and closes the door behind him. They both sigh. Midoriya runs the cold water tap and splashes water onto his face. He stares at the mirror. Annoyed at himself.

"Come on! You can do this. Just bite the bullet and go for it" Midoriya says to his reflection.

"Just take the risk. Don't be a wimp!" Todoroki-kun says to himself.

"I'm gonna do it!" They both say.

Midoriya walks out of the bathroom and walks back to the livingroom. Todoroki-kun stands up and faces Midoriya. Both stand there. Staring at each other. SAY IT! SAY IT! Midoroya yells inside his head. DO IT! DO IT NOW! Todoroki-kun screams at himself. Midoriya's mouth is open, trying to say the words he desperately wants to say. However, no sound emerges from his mouth. He stands there. Motionless. He really wants to say it but he can't. As though his body is refusing to cooperate.

Todoroki-kun wants to speak. He wants nothing more than to just walk up to Midoriya and kiss him. His body is having a central systems failure. Nothing is happening. *This Action Cannot Be Executed* his brain says.

They both continue to just stand there, motionless. Eventually Todoroki-kun admits defeat to himself. He realises he needs to say something before Midoriya thinks he's a weirdo.

"I'll go make us some tea!" Todoroki-kun eventually says. Angry at himself that he completely chickened out. He starts to head to the kitchen. Midoriya meanwhile is having an internal conflict. He's about the burst. His head thinks one thing but his body is still refusing to cooperate. He's at his peak. As Todoroki-kun starts walking to the kitchen, Midoriya is bursting at the seams. His brain is screaming at the top of its lungs, desperate for something to happen.

Without warning...

"I LOVE YOU!" He screams.

Todoroki-kun stops, he looks directly at Midoriya. Completely stunned.

"What?" He asks.

"I don't care anymore! I can't hide my feelings anymore! I won't hide my feelings anymore! I love you, Todoroki-kun!" Midoriya announces. Tears streaming down his face.
