Is this just another horror story?

    This. Is. Terrifying. As we stepped into the forest the noise from the neighborhood seemed to die down a bit which was odd... oh well. Alex snaps a twig while in there and it nearly gave me heart attack, and I turned to glare at them but when i do for
the house in the background seems a bit blurred and contorted, maybe i need a prescription? Anyway as we walk farther and farther into the forest, Alex gets more and more excited.

After a while it started getting dark and I was getting more and more scared with each minute that passes "Hey al? It's getting late, maybe we should head back?" I say, turning to look at my younger sibling. They sigh.

"Fine but let's come back tomorrow even earlier! So then we can explore more!" it was my urn to sigh. Again. Then we start heading back. I heard a twig snap and turned to look back at Alex who had stopped.

"Al?" i asked confused "why did you stop?"

"I didn't step on a twig." I froze

"Maybe it was those kids who left the footprints?"

"Ellie..." they hesitate before saying "i think we're being followed." Well that was the final string for me, i grabbed Alex hand and sprinted to the edge of the forest toward what i thought was our house but, it was a different colour? I paused at the edge of the forest. Our house was a light gray and the house in front of us was a beige. This was the way back right? I took a step back into the forest, the house seemed to switch colours and Alex seemed to pop in and out of focus.. My eyesight wasn't that bad was it? "Ellie?" Alex said, but their words seemed so far away "Ellie! Behind you!" I hear. Oh gosh.. Was I going deaf too?

I felt a hand on my mouth, and it all faded to black...
