"I'm so bored," Alex complained, flopping onto the couch.
"Then go read a book or play some more video games or I don't know, do your schoolwork?" Ellie said back to her sibling sticking her tongue out
"Hey El?" Ellie hummed in acknowledgement, "Can we go explore the forest? I know you won't let me go alone, but what if you went with me?!" Alex says getting excited.
"I don't know Al... that forest has always kind of spooked me a bit" Ellie said "plus who knows what could be in there" She adds shuddering. "Besides Al, remember that lady that fostered us? She went in there and came out traumatized." Alex sighs and admits defeat
"Fine, I'll stop, for now at least"
This happened every day until Ellie finally gives in
"Oh. My. Gosh. Fine, whatever. I'm done. I'll go grab my adventure bag, and you go grab yours. I'll meet you in the living area I'm a few minutes." Alex does a little cheer after this then runs upstairs to grab their bag.
the two walked out of the house towards the forest that lingered on the edge of the property then stopped to analyze the best entry point into the forest. Ellie sighed then saw a path with footprints that started only at the edge of the forest and led inwards towards it.
"Alex have you been in there?" Ellie asks, confused. Alex gasps dramatically
"You think so lowly of me dear sister. But Nah i didnt." Alex says while having a hand on their chest. "Maybe it was some other kid in the neighborhood?"
Ellie pauses "Then where are the footprints on the lawn? If someone went into the forest from here there would have to be some footprints on the lawn but.." Ellie pauses and genterers around to the surrounding area.
"But nothing is there," Alex finishes off for her. "Well I guess that way seems like a good path, plus maybe we can find the bodys that made those footprints?" Ellie hesitates but sighs and gestures for Alex to follow behind her. 'I really hope we dont die' was her last thought before they stepped into the forest following the set of footprints that were already there
