"I messed up, right?"

Bright asks the two males who are silently staring at him with their cans of beer. He then places his phone back on the table and grabs his own can. It's not that he actually believed Luke - but he's just scared.

He doesn't even know what exactly he's scared about but he doesn't have the courage to talk with Win. Bright is at loss and he thinks that what he did back there is the right thing to do, to let him go and watch on the sideline once more. Just like what he has been doing for many years since he started noticing and admiring the young man. Being in the shadows and silently cheering for his success.

That day when he DM'ed Win, it was just out of pure whim - and he wasn't expecting to have a reply back. But when he did, he surely was happy and content to be able to share messages with the one he loves. At that time, he kept on reminding himself to not be greedy and just accept whatever is happening. And then the messages continued to appear each day and it progresses to them calling each other.

But right now, he knows very well that him being a coward messed up everything between them - if there is even something between them.

Ah, I fucking messed up everything. He hates me now.

Bright clutches his knees against his stomach and starts to sob, a silent one while Tay and New look at each other with worry lacing their expressions.

Tay had known Bright since they both started in the industry, and though the older man looks like a solid block of ice - they found friendship with each other. He had seen those glances and stares that Bright had been stealing from Win, and realized that the male does feel something for the young man.

And then Luke happened, it was the first time that he had seen Bright so down - like he was carrying all the problems that the whole world has. They went for a drink and Bright told Tay everything that he already actually knows - but still listened to the man's cries and shared his sadness. After that, Bright changed - he became more distant from everyone excluding him. He was like building up a very strong defense around him and won't let anyone break. Bright just focused on improving himself and that made him climb up to the top quickly. But then again, Tay lost his best friend.

Then the breakup happened, Bright didn't feast on that information, in fact, he was saddened and got worried for Win. And the messages began, the calls, the posts - Tay was slowly seeing his old best friend resurface. With that, he supported him all the way because he knows that only Win can make him happy.

But seeing him now, Tay feels defeated. He could have done something to stop his best friend from hurting, crying, and drowning himself with beer. Yet, he wasn't able to prevent it from happening. Tay knows that Luke is just making up bullshits - but clearly, Bright doesn't want to acknowledge that fact. And so, the man chose to hurt Win and himself because he is not sure what to do. Bright had only been in one relationship, and that ended badly as well. Not that he saw it because it happened before they became friends - but Tay thinks that it is one of the many reasons that Bright acts like a coward.

"Why did you have to lie to him? If you really want him then go for it," New explains while munching on a chip that he and Tay shares. "I think Win likes you."

"Me, too. I think he likes you," Tay confirms whatever his lover just said to Bright.

The male just stares at his balcony's window while he gulps the remaining contents of his beer. Bright is already long gone from a good conversation as he sits there thinking of Win. If he is only brave enough to confess to Win, he would have done it a long time ago. But he isn't, and Bright affirms what Win said - he's indeed a fucking coward.
