Levi was heading back into the wall after witnessing countless sad deaths, fighting the female Titan with mikasa and rescuing Eren.

If you looked at Levi, you would see nothing different. Just his normal emotionless face pretending that nothing happened, but inside his mind were exploding with thoughts, sad thoughts.

Thoughts that would make you go to bed with a night light. Thoughts that would traumatize anyone for years, but this was Levi, and sadly, he was used to it.
But the one thing that he thought about most was...Hanji. How he could have saved her, how sorry he was for letting her go, how he wanted to bring her body back so he could stay just a little bit more with her, but no, he knew that it was right not to bring the body.

Levi and Hanji were sitting at the rooftops of the abandoned castle that the survey corps use (sorry I don't know the name, bare with me here;)) looking at the brilliant stars that sprinkled the night blue sky. "Levi?" Hanji asked "Yah?" Levi responds. " I just wanted to say something about my funeral, since it could possibly be close from now." Hanji tells him. "I don't really feel like talking about funerals right now and deaths, Hanji" Levi responds. "No, you don't have to talk just listen. If I ever die outside of the walls, and you have the opportunity to retrieve my body, don't" Hanji says. Levi was shocked by what Hanji told him, even though he was kind of expecting it and he knew the reason why. " I just want the slightest chance to die with my body as close to the outside as possible. So I can for once feel free even in my death" Hanji continues. "Ok, I'll keep that in mind, but just in case let's hope that we will both die old when this is all over". "What about you Levi ?" Hanji asked "Huh?" Levi said mentioning that he didn't understand her question. "Would you want me to leave you on the outside, if you died, even though I doubt that will ever happen." Hanji says. "Hell nah! Hanji! You better give me a descent funeral if I die young with flowers and everything! I want everybody to know who I was! Got that! Don't you dare leave me in a dirty muddy floor!" Levi yells as if Hanji wasn't listening. "Ok I'll also keep that in mind. Let's promise not to forget. Promise?" Hanji asked Levi with her pinky sticking out. Levi looks at the pinkie and hesitates not wanting to leave Hanji behind if she leaves first.
"Promise".

Levi was deep in his thoughts when something catches his eye.

It was a butterfly.

It has beautiful blue wings and white dots that looked like snowflakes. The butterfly flew right in front of levi and landed on his hand. After staying still for a few seconds, the butterfly flaps its wings 3 times. Levi has the biggest smile he could make and a tear of happiness run down his cheek.
